Just picked up a 2019 Tundra 1793 edition from CarMax. 19k miles.
We needed a tow rig i didn’t need to charge every 90 minutes (replacing a 2017 Tesla Model X tow rig). We just bought a bigger trailer and the range reduction due to drag of the new trailer was the last straw, something had to give. Cybertruck will have same issue but with 500mi range that would be ~230 mi towing. So drive 4 hours, charge at lunch might work, but my wife would likely say nope to that. Happy wife happy life.

Choose a Toyota over all others because I’ve owned a Chevy and a Ford truck before. Thought I would enjoy some Toyota reliability. My wife LOVES the idea we can go farther in a day without charging every 80-120 miles. I thought back my last V8 engine was a 1989 Silverado. My F250 Super Duty had a V10 and it didn’t sound as sweet as what the Toyota engineers did with this baby. First thing I noticed was the V8 sound. Lovely. Miss my Tesla, sure, but this Tundra makes it way better.

Welcome and if it's just got a stock exhaust, wait until you put an aftermarket one. Dirty Deeds is probably the best for Tundras, but there's lot of good choices out there.

    Very nice!

Interesting to see going from EV to gas guzzler, but you go with what you need.

I wonder if they going to make EV trailers, where there are batteries and motor on the trailer. I think that would be a smart move for EVs, although that would just be more weight.

Model X can tow up to 5000#. The model X has 487 ft# of torque and 503HP. (2 motors front and rear)
The Tundra only has 401 ft# and 381 HP based on my Google search.
But it has a 36 Gal fuel tank. The Tesla battery is like a 14 Gal fuel tank.

OP, you are going to love the range of your 1794 with your r-pod! It actually has a 38 gallon tank and will read empty (fuel light will come on) with about 6-7 gallons left in the tank.

With the 27' Trailmanor that I took out west on a 5600 mile round trip, I was averaging better than 13 mpg's at 70-75 mph and was filling up about once every 350 miles with 1/4 tank of fuel left. On HWY 89 between Flagstaff and Mt. Carmel Junction (traveling from the Grand Canyon to Zion), I averaged about 16.7 towing that very light, low-profile, 4,000ish lbs Trailmanor. Now with my Lance that comes in at about 7,000 lbs, that I took about 3,800 miles and back form GA to SW Texas, I get about 8.5 to 10 mpgs towing doing between 65 and about 72 mph highway, and stop about every 300 miles to fill up. Towing it into South Florida, I average about 10.9 mpgs at 75 mpH on flat terrain near sea level.dv58V6mgRma2OyH3iNG5mQ.jpg

Welcome from Colorado. Yep, there is range and range under load which can be a game changer depending on distance, load, and much much you like hanging out at charging stations. Tesla X is quite nice. I'd like one in red. You'll have fun towing with your Tundra!
