Put my Archive Garage medium duty leafs with U-bolt flip kit on. These are the tits. So much better than AAL. A bit of rake which will level out once I get my RTT and bed rack on. Old (less than 2 years) springs will be on-sale soon. @Archive

Mine didn’t come with badges except the tailgate... so I added some. Am I just weird?

One member here debaged and then replaced with Tundra badges from a current gen and it looked really good.

I’ve got 3rd gen black tundra badges. Love the look. Just can’t find a matching pen black Toyota badge for above tundra on the tailgate.

looks just like the trailer we've got for the bobcat. mines a wee bit heavier than i'd like for moving cars around on it though

Figured out what bothers me about these truck pictures.
When the paint looks this good & the badges are gone I just assume it's a repaint. The debadge removes the pride of well cared for original (mostly) paint.

Tomorrow, I’m doing some front travel check and putting these on the curb. If you are in the LA, CA area, come get them. They need work, this is the worst one.

    17X7.5 15mm offset

Not a marketplace post because I’m too new and these aren’t for sale, they are for grabs. Mods, I hope this is OK...

yeah, this one is a heavy beast. I figure it’s about 3200lbs. 16+2 and 6k axles.

If I need something lighter I can always borrow my dads 16ft aluminum car trailer. That thing is sweet. 3500lb axles, but the whole trailer is only 1300lbs, so it has good capacity still.

Got the new bolts/nuts on with success. Bolts are good but the nuts worn thin! My Flanges Matings are a little gnar gnar around the fronts/tops so a few weeks ago I cleaned them up and put a ring of the High Temp Gasket Maker. Holding nicely.

Shpray’d it all up with Rustolem BBQ Paint for finish matching and then hit the rest of the exhaust again since was in there. That exhaust paint job has held nicely for two years (see post #10) from almost 2 years ago. Cost about #20.

I may install a small T100 sticker on the 2002 RCLB, that will confuse the dumbmasses.

Here's the real question... Deavers or archive leafs?

I sent you a message about your leafs too. I'm on the fence about doing new leafs or doing the mini pack for now. I should probably just bite the bullet, but it would be nice to at least know if I'm going deavers or archive long term.

I got a new set from Deaver. I asked them for medium duty and i ended up paying less than what the standard ones are advertised for online.
I’m happy with the ride but they seem to bottom out often out on the trails. Or maybe it’s because of the super bumps I installed... they are taller than the originals.
If I’m not mistaken, Deavers are designed to extend farther down for better traction which might explain why I hit the super bumps so often on rougher trails.
Overall very happy with the Deavers and knowing they’ll last the life of the truck.

Received my heavy duty replacement leaf springs from ATS Springs during the week and got to install them yesterday. The bundle weighs 110lbs.

They came banded nice and tight with all the hardware packaged nicely.

Longer U-bolts are needed for the heavy duty set since there's a total of 5 leaves vs the stock 4.

    Getting ready in the garage.

    Rust free Arizona frame!

Decided to lube the friction spots on the brake backing plate while I was in there, this should eliminate the brake squeal I get while stepping on the brakes while in reverse.

Everything came apart pretty easy, 2 U-bolts, front spring eye bolt, rear shackle bolt and pull the spring.

    U-bolt comparison

Rear eye bolt has to be removed with spring off the vehicle since there's not enough room to remove as it came from Toyota. "Buster" made quick work of all removal.

Comparison of old and new springs.

A little bit cumbersome to get the spring in place and lined up by myself, but not too bad really.

Plenty of room for the Timbrens I previously installed.

Very pleased with the end result. The heavy duty springs load capacity are 2000lbs each compared to the 1500lbs stockers. The rear is now about 1.5" taller than stock, center of hub to fender is now 23 1/4" on both sides. Previously it was 21.5" on the drivers side rear and 21 3/4" on the passenger side rear.

I was also going to install an Addco 1" rear sway bar I have but I put it off so I can see how just the HD springs feel in everyday use. The stock springs sagged pretty bad with a couple of dual sport bikes in the bed or when towing my trailer and the Timbrens stopped the sag but did nothing for capacity.
