Has anyone bought this specific head unit for their Tundra? Was looking at upgrading to have android auto and other features. It's from phoenixautomotiveinc.com

I had a similar one, but different brand. Having Android on the head unit was nice. You can run things like torque and apps like youtube. I could never get Android Auto to function properly though, and it would never connect to my phone's Android Auto. I lost the HU due to an accident so now have an OEM again.
Having native apps like Pandora and Spotify were nice too. I would just connect the HU to my phone's wifi hotspot and it worked better that way.

Dasaita I'm assuming? I'm kinda convinced that this could honestly be a small downgrade and small upgrade considering sound quality.

I think it might have been, or one of the other chinese brands. I went through 3, all were replaced because of warranty problems. The last one was the most stable. Honestly I didn't mind the sound quality, I upgraded the speakers in that truck to the set from @james@tech12volts and it sounded pretty good. I would go back to an Android head unit, however, my wife now drives my truck more and she has an iPhone and they don't play nice together. I will probably end up getting a Pioneer or Kenwood that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
