I am looking at getting the end cap covers to put over my chrome bumper ends at the front. I have a limited and the rear is already color matched. I have read people have had issues with the sensor dimpling the end cap in. I have also read there may be another sensor specifically for use with the plastic end caps. Can anyone comment on this? Also can anyone comment on the install as these parts don't appear to come with double sided tape.

They are not overlays, so no tape needed.

You need to remove your old ones and install these in their place.

Check YouTube or search for install videos. There is more to it than a couple bolts.

Thanks I am glad they are replacements for the chrome. Yes I have watched the vids on dropping the front bumper cover. It's not too bad of a job.

I've installed both the Bumpershellz caps and the OEM style you are describing. The Bumpershellz cover the chrome end caps and do have two-sided tape in certain areas. All this "stuff" increases the total end cap thickness. When the sensor clip is attached behind the chrome cap, it pulls the sensor head toward the clip and will make a "dimple" appearance around the sensor head as you described. For me, it wasn't too severe, but still noticeable. For the OEM style, I reused the same clip that came with the chrome caps and it seems to work and fit fine. I still see just a little "dimple" or impression, but not nearly as much as with the Bumpershellz:

I've read the replacement caps come in a black finish that matches the center section. Are these caps ok to leave unpainted and black like the center section?

Mine were gray plastic aftermarket caps. Paid around $100 each and had them painted for $80 each. My valence is black but has a bit of a textured finish. I'm not sure about the finish on the Toyota OEM caps, but if I were a betting man, I'd bet they are a smooth finish like the front plastic panels I just bought.

Looks good. Best of Luck. Guess below is what it looks like with painted caps:
