acar / android otherwise known as fuelly. i have been using acar way before it was bought out by fuelly. it hasnt been updated in a while since fuelly took over but it still works great for what i need.

Dumb question - is the fuel information (e.g., # of gallons, price, etc.) a manual input? I *can* do that but honestly that'd drive me nuts. LOL

everything is manual but honestly it takes me under 1 min after a fuel up to input the data into the app.

I have used a fuel app to calculate my mpgs since I bought my truck in late August last year. I’m sitting at about 3500 miles right now. I’d say 90-95 percent of that is city driving. Right now my average mpgs is 12.04. Only 2 mpgs less than my 2010 Tacoma 4.0. I am running Falken Wildpeaks which are bigger and heavier than stock tires.

5.9 Km/L or 13.87mpg this past week on my arrival at work and home. City roads, stopping and starting, crosswalks, school zones, rushhour.

I can get 6.5 Km/L (15mpg) if I slow down and don't have as much fun off the line or driving through giant puddles.

I’ll have to try that out on next few fill ups if there’s any changes.

    It depends.

If I were still commuting, and doing 60 miles/day, I'd probably get about 16-18 MPG even "around town."

But I haven't worn a button down shirt or stepped into an office in a year. Now "around town" means going to the local taco shop, the coffee shop, Home Depot, gas station. I get 14MPG in such driving.

Yeah something like that, these gas milegae threads used to piss me off, but a good buddy of mine "Professional Hand Model" turned me around. Now i no longer let gas mileage threads bother me. I can't change people just my attitude.... Lol

Around town I get 13 MPG. I find freezing cold starts really decreases your consumption because of the secondary air pump and the extra fuel that gets used. On the highway it's not much worse than my 2008 Tacoma. Highway was 18.25 MPG cruising to the beach, back country roads. I have the TRD exhaust, helps a bit with the fuel economy I was told.

If your asking about fuel economy, wait for the next generation which should have a hybrid option. Personally I don't drive mine everyday, night shift, I usually take the Rav4. I consider the heavy fuel bill cheaper than calling a tow truck and repairs like I had in the past with Ford and Chev. Toyota Reliability wins.
