I want to powder coat my trd sway bar a different color than red. I'm confident I have to remove the sway bar link bushings to have this done. They appear to be one piece which makes me wonder how they got them in there in the first place. Is there a trick to getting them out? The rubber has a lip on both sides that is holding the bushing in place. Thanks.

Their is a split in them that runs parallel with the bar. They just wrap around the bar and are held in place with the clamp.

Hey thanks guys for the quick replies. I'm not wondering about the sway bar bushings but instead the bushings in the links that connect the end of the sway bar to the truck frame.

Have you tried compressing the lip?

I have but not real hard. The bushings are pretty stiff

The rear endlink bushings should just press out. You'll have to push the steel sleeve out first. The polyurethane bushings should squeeze through. Spray some WD40 and use a rubber mallet if it fights you.

The front endlink bushings I believe are actually vulcanized rubber studs that are pressed in. These are not so easy to remove. It would be a lot easier to have the powdercoater just mask them.
