I had a JBL/Nav HU in the truck which I replaced with an aftermarket HU with carplay/android auto. Stock 6v tailgate camera works fine with the new HU but I don't like the view angle of the stock 6v camera. I get that it may point lower toward the ground and around the hitch area for towing purposes. I would like to raise the angle of the camera a tad more higher to get more of what's behind me. I was wondering if I could replace the stock camera to get better view angle or would I just need a different tailgate handle with potentially higher camera angle or would I need to do both.

    Thanks in Advance.

Depending on HU you may be able to just run a 2nd camera.

I just did the same thing. Does yours point down lower than this. I can adjust the angle a little through the HU settings

My view looks a tad different. looks like the 2012 may have more height view. Granted my driveway has slight incline. how far was the tundra from garage?

I ran a second camera to my rear view mirror. It stays on while I drive and give me a great vantage point. Also helps when backing up. You can see the stock view on the HU and the higher view on my rearview
