Once I have one paid off, it doesn't leave, regardless of mileage. I have a 16 year old son that will prove himself in the Sonata, then move into the Ram 2500. The Sonata will then be my daughters proving ground in a couple of more years, before she moves on to something else.

The CJ7, my wife calls the "Death Trap", will never leave while I'm alive. It has been a work in progress since I got it 10+ years ago and will be one for many more years to come. :)

Right now, we have "too many" cars, but in two years, with two young drivers, we'll be just right with a spare (ie-Death Trap) that can act as punishment if your car breaks or gets wrecked.

Oh I understand my problem is I live less then 4 miles to work and back so 98 percent of the time I don’t drive any farther then to and back to work.

Lol, speaking about ownership, I’ve owned my Tundra for less than 100 days and have put almost 10k miles on it.

Honestly, I may be slightly daily driving it vs my Civic that needs some work before I drive it again.

Then again, why keep constantly garaging your truck that you spend so much money modding.

IMHO, yeah, the mileage will go up and yes, everyone wants to baby their vehicle, but like Toyota’s motto: Let’s Go Places!!!

I’ve thought about riding a bicycle to work and back but I thought maybe I would sweat to much lol. But I normally just stay around my area the farthest I go is about once a week me and my buddy go play disc golf somewhere on the other side of Charlotte or in South Carolina. But it is amazing to have on beach trips and going to the mountains.

Thanks, Baja Desgins S8 with back light, both on separate switches. SDHQ in Gilbert sells the mounting bracket, and it was a perfect fit.

Since it costs more than an average truck upgrade.....what will I be doing on my Tundra? Registering in this stupid state of California. 713$ for a year.

I added bed stiffeners today. They are fairly simple to install by myself minus the one bolt that goes into the floor of the bed. It's way easier with two people. Also add the stiffeners before you get your bed lined.

I hear you on that.. I'm at 3500 miles, and grabbed mine January 17th. My 2014 has 130k on it, which includes some amazing road trips, but I'm usually good for 18-20k a year. As is my wife. We drive too much, I guess, but I don't hate it.

That asinine. I'll never complain about my $110 or $120 registration to anyone outside of Texas again.

It pretty easy to paint most of it. You have to tape the buttons off, paint the main part, then when that is dry reverse the taping and painting. The buttons are kind of tricky. I used some Gothic railroad letters from some hobby store online. You wet them down, float them in place, let them dry and then give them a couple of coats of clear coat. It was kind of challenging. I never saw where anyone had done this so I had to learn on the go.

it turned out like I wanted it to, except with my method the ratio button lights are no longer visible. I also purchased some 3 inch red and blue polka dot stickers and the trimmed them for the hot and cold.

I've been thinking about this one. I'm just not sure I trust those brackets to be the main load-bearing parts of the rack.
Static weight they seem fine, I'm more concerned with movement. Any side to side swaying seems like the rack wouldn't be as stable as it would if it was sitting on the bed. Have you noticed any side to side instability?

Today I detailed my interior, blew out junk with my air compressor, and detail cleaned everything.
Used a toothbrush for the hard to reach...

I like my TSS wheels on my 2014.
Not a fan of the offset, but like the look of the wheels.

On a whim today, I cleaned them up a little.
They have been looking really bad lately, pretty road worn.

So I started today with a Flitz polish by hand.
Followed by a good wax and buffed with a drill ball.
Still had to go over what the ball didn't catch...
It literally took me 3.5 hours to clean these 4 wheels up..

I gotta say it turned out very well for 6 year old stock wheels..

The pics don't do it justice, either how bad they did look, or how good they now look.
The old pics are not dirty wheels, I had just washed them.

Might take another pic tomorrow with the center caps back on in the sunlight..
I cleaned them up as well, but ran out of time.

Had to pick up the schnauzer from the vet at 5:30, he had a tooth pulled and a cyst removed today.
    That was $1100....:eek2:

Last pic, Q-tips cleaning out the fake rivet holes.....:D

The wheels look really good! I have a 2016 and the black wheels are dull and faded. Did you use a polishing compound or what? I'd love to do this to mine but didn't want to take off the finish on them with too aggressive product.

That is so stupid. No wonder we have some many Californians moving to Texas. Cost me $82/year for registration...oh yeah, and I have no state income tax. :)

I'm looking at a Wilco Hitchgate with a 34" spare and trying to decide between the solo and the XL. Does the solo swing out far enough for the tire to clear the side of the truck when its open a full 180 degrees?
