Hey guys, I have been searching and reading a lot on these forums since I am not a wheel guy. I am looking to switch to a 35x12.5/17 and will be getting either Method 701s or 703s. After reading up on it, my understanding is that I want 6" of backspace. The 703s only come in 4.75" or 6.20". Will I be good at 6.20" or is that too much? Or should I just stick with 18s and run 6" 701s?

I will admit I am a bit overwhelmed with all the info I have been seeing and would appreciate any advice from members running 35s on 17s already.

Truck has a 2.5" Icon lift with BMC done and aftermarket bumper. Currently running 295/70R18s.

I don't have 17's with 35's but plan to soon-ish. Been eyeing the 701s myself

With your setup, BMC/bumper at 2.5", I think youd be able to clear either. The 4.75" (0 offset) will have a more wide stance, and the 6.2" (+35 offset) will have a tighter clearance to your UCA. Something you could consider down the road will be aftermarket UCAs to both increase your clearance there and help you fit the new tire better by providing the ability to get a better alignment

I have 37s on method 17” 702s with 4.75” backspacing. I have a 2.5” 6112 lift in front and I fit with no rubbing at full lock after a BMC, bumper cut, and engine skid cut. :sawzall:(Still a little rub when I flex off-road ) I like the extra poke that the 0 offset gives:transformer:

Awesome! This is exactly what I was hoping to hear! I was honestly hoping the 4.75 would would work out for the wider stance.

If I might ask, what rubs when you are flexed? I have RCI skids so I shouldn't need to trim them, I hit the sway bar first. Also, quit tempting me on 37s, the body is willing, but the wallet is in the corner crying.

That's great to hear! Thank you. Yeah, the fear I had with the 6.2" was my UCAs, even though I already swapped them for Icons.

When I am flexed I think almost everything rubs... the main problem is uptravel, I have TC UCAs and my tires hit my upper fenders long before my suspension tops out.
If I am at full lock in either direction and flex my suspension by going over a curb or something I will still hit the body mount. I have about 4 degrees of caster so I can’t go much further without adjusting my upper control arms.
My sway bar is removed so I don’t have that problem :hattip:
Next up is to either long travel the front or throw some glass on not sure which I will do first.:spending:

PERFECT! Man that looks amazing. I can't wait. This makes me a lot more comfortable pulling the trigger.
