90915-yzzd3 filter (Walmart was out of supertech.. ikr..) and some fresh super tech transfer case fluid. She's good to go!

 

Sold a guy my old skid plate today and holy shit was this truck sick. He said it was a custom color he made and fully took the bed off to paint it and everything. It was super clean.

 

I'm running Baja designs so I can tell you they fit. But I'll snag measurements tomorrow.

Or just get the BD's.

I much prefer the old "dark" light blue because it shows up much better on dirty, only surfaces than the new one.

Plus, when written on cardboard it pops like NEON! New one doesn't...

Fortunately, I can stock up on old formuler.

 

The windchill was below zero today. NFW was I going out there to climb under the dash! It'll warm up above freezing by Wednesday, and then I'll poke my nose in the cab.

BTW... Only place I can think of to learn Margonian is on Margon, the only habitable planet around Alpha Centauri. Or I suppose you could just read The Galaxy Primes by Edward E. "Doc" Smith. Not nearly as well known as the Lensman books or The Skylark of Space, it's one of my favorites.

Throw a little stick of wood in front of them. No suspension on them lifts and the operators smack around in their little cages pretty good going over stuff like that. Teaches em a lesson. We used to do it at Costco all the time

 

Now that's clever. Most of them out here swerve because their about half drunk. So... gets kinda hard to pick a trajectory for stick.

Back in my early days as a forklift operator we didn’t have cell phones to distract us. Instead we were too busy driving over 0.22-0.27 caliber strip loads when the boss was out.

Back when I worked in a manufacturing setting, we had zero forklift/pedestrian safety. It was an OSHA wet dream. My manager there said that at his previous job(boat manufacturing), they had a woman get hit by a forklift and it completely degloved her leg(google degloving injury). A few years ago a guy in Knoxville died after he flipped his forklift and it fell on him. Had he been wearing his seatbelt he would have lived. Those things are no joke.

Just last year we had a supervisor run over a production team member that was walking into an aisle. The supervisor was cruising full speed on one of the 4 ton lifts. It shattered every leg bone that woman had. I mean like straight up solid bone turned to dust... Gnar Gnar.

When I worked at Hankook Tire in Clarksville TN, Osha would have L O V E D that place. I started before they began production. I helped them work out bugs in their finishing process. None of the E-stops worked on any of the machines. You've got high pressure 3/4" braided steel steam lines that were bursting all the time. Electric, quiet as a mouse forklifts whipping around 90 degree corners without stopping. NO mirror balls were hanging from the ceiling. NOBODY used their horns to alert anybody else as to where they were. Oh, yeah... Most of the time they were swinging a 1,000 # 900 degree mold by one chain hook. Imagine that thing swinging into somebody at 12 miles an hour...

I remember one time I was in the rework department. I was training a new member on how to use the "remold" press. I was showing her how to use the steam press, and I set everything up. Demonstrated, and educated her how to operate everything. I started the timer for 5 minutes, and we walked off. Timer went off, and I went with her to retrieve the tire. She unclamped it, and one of the high pressure steam lines went pop. Everything went into slow motion for me. I pushed her out of the way of the line from whipping around, and I ran around to the back of the press, and closed the ball valves. They were hot! I went back to check on her, and her hand was burned pretty badly. I instructed my team leader who was an Army Vet to call the supervisor right now!!! Andre was pretty much frozen in place. (In hindsight he was probably having a flashback, but at the time I was just angry that he wasn't doing anything.) I yelled at him, and he snapped out of it. He hit up Gordon on the radio who was a marine vet. He came rushing down from the other side of the building. He ran ther, and beat the manager who drove there from the same place!

I told him what happened. (We didn't have security cameras then...) He took my word for it after the new girl, and Andre vouched for me. We treated her hands, and she was sent to the ER. After it was all said and done Gordon came to me privately, and said " We should have never made that guy a team lead. You handled that immediately with no hesitation. You didn't even care about getting hurt." I thanked him, and replied "I'm a (my last name) Its what we do," and he said "YOU deserve more than $10 an hour my friend!"

(If a tire had a aesthetic defect on the sidewall, or labeling we would buff the defect off, and then "remold" a new piece of rubber using a partial mold to shape the area the defect was in. Making it look pretty, and not wasting a whole ass tire.)

I didn't know what it was called, but I've seen one of those before! Pretty fucked up.

Just after I'd gotten my intermediate license I was heading home late (Because theres a driver CuRfEw here for "new" drivers.) I crested this hill, and saw a log truck that had rolled off the road on a curve. I was the first responder. I called 911, and told the operator where we were. I told her that I was going to go check to see if anyone had survived because it looked pretty fresh. I mean diesel fuel was still pouring out of this 18 wheeler. The cab was fucking mangled. The rear frame was twisted from the weight of the log trailer rolling, and pulling the truck with it. Cab had made solid contact with the embankment. I saw this red, bony hand wave at me. I knelt down, and shined my flashlight at the guy. He was really fucked up. He was still buckled in his seat. Twisted metal around him, and he said poorly "Habla el espanol?" I said No, and tried to communicate to him to stay calm, and that help was on the way.

His right facial cheek was scraped up, and right hand was pretty mangled. His shirt was ripped, and chest above his heart was "Degloved" His flesh still hung to him like a wet, bloody rag. Nipple, and all. I could see his chest muscles flex, and ooze blood with every breath. Exposed about 15 square inches of meat per the medics.

I slowly removed him from the cab, and started doing basic field medicine. I took my shirt off, and used it hold over his chest. It soaked through quickly. He started getting paler, and paler. I kept trying to talk to him. Telling him that everything was going to be okay. That he was going home to loved ones. The paramedics showed up a few minutes later, and they took over. They offered to hose the blood off of me, and the lead dude asked me questions about what I'd done, and whatnot. He told me that If I hadn't been there he would have died. I told him that If they hadn't shown up when they did he was a goner anyways.

I went home, and thought about everything that had happened. I told mom, and pop. They said collectively. "How do you keep happening about so much fucked up shit?" I was 17.
