Hopped in to go to work and pressed the button to start and just a lot of clicks....

Took my other car then returned home and called Toyota roadside assistance. They asked if I needed a jump and I said no it needs to go to the dealer to get checked out.

There is no reason I should have a dead battery this morning....

Will follow up with status later.

My 2020 with 8,000 miles did the same thing last year. Toyota had to replace the battery.

Guess I should have mentioned it's a 2020 with 5500 miles not even a year old. It does not sit for long stretches as I drive it almost every day just not to work as I am teleworking.

Toyota and Subaru uses one supplier (name escape my mind) for some batteries, and they suck, my battery on my 2017 Outback died on the 2nd week I took delivery of the car, and our STi's would often be hard to crank over in winter on OEM batteries, there was even a lawsuit on it, I wouldn't be surprise if the batteries on the Tundra is from the same supplier, the 12v batteries are none issue on a hybrid, but on pure ICE it can be a pain to have a crappy one.

Just replaced the battery in my ‘18 after only 14k miles. The stock ones are hit-or-miss dogshit. I put an AGM in it last week. I live in the arctic and dont have time for that “is my truck going to start this morning” crap.
    Suck it, toyota.

My dads 2021 4Runner with 350 miles on it had a bad battery. Definitely an issue with batteries lately.

My 2020 Tundra hasn't had any issues though but i'm keeping an eye on it.

I had a similar issue as can be seen here https://www.tundras.com/threads/factory-battery-expectations.72398/. What started out as a battery dying during a movie at the Drive In, turned into the battery dying, and being hard to start every time it sat for a couple of days. It was a big battle to get Toyota to replace it, involving multiple trips to the dealership, and calls to corporate - ultimately it got replaced when the dealership said they saw "battery fluid" pooled on top of the battery. There was no battery fluid, but they knew the battery was garbage, and that's the only way they could convince Toyota to replace it under warranty.

UPDATE - The dealer put a new battery in. No issues or hassles.

You go girl...tell Toyota how you really feel. :D When I sold my 2013, I took out my 5 month old Interstate and put it in my 2020.

2018 Platinum and my battery bought the farm at 18k miles after only a year and a half. OEM Toyota batteries are pure dog crap.

I’ll throw in that Honda batteries are the same. Wife’s CRV battery was toast after 2 years and 20k miles. Bullshit expense on a pretty much new vehicle.

I am guessing this must be an issue with newer years? My 2016 tundra still has its original battery. My 2003 4Runner had the best battery I ever owned (Panasonic), used it for about 12 years. The last four years it sat for long periods of time, cause I installed it in my mud truck. I hope everyone gets theirs replaced by Toyota, cause a battery should last longer than a year or two!

2020 1794 here with a little over 13k on it; had it for 16 months without issue so far. It did come with HD battery (group 27F) and alternator package; don't know if that makes a difference or not in this pattern.

Remember the gearshift lock if you have to move it with the battery dead...

I’ve got a 2018 with 57,000 miles (driving from AK to SC will do that). Original battery, no issues. I’ll probably swap the OEM this year for a good AGM when I see a good sale (watch—it’ll be dead in the morning).

okay I’ll start a firestorm: what’s the best AGM for the money?
