    Hey guys.

I'm going to pull the trigger on getting an audio upgrade soon. I have a DSR1 + the harness already, but I wanted to wait a bit to do some more research on the rest of the system

I have a 2020 TRD Pro with JBL (which is why I got the DSR1)

James from T12V recommends the Infinity 7005a, which I'm perfectly fine getting. The only thing I want to make sure is that I don't lose any functionality, like navigation sound. Everyone talks about upgrading the door speakers and sub, but I don't know what to do about the center speakers.

There seems to be 3 center speakers. How does that tie into the DSR 1? Do I need an additional amp to power those? Can I just use the stock amp to power those and use the new amp to power the doors + sub?

Do I get a 7005a amp or do I get a 4 channel and dedicated sub?

Do I need 2 subs or one? I don't need to shake the car like a high schooler, but I do love listening to loud, powerful music.

I would go with a T12V setup, but I don't see one exactly how I want it. Maybe I'll call or email him and ask some more questions

    Thanks in advance!

Also, completely unrelated... but does anyone know of a system to record the backup camera like a dash cam? I have a dash cam in my truck (R2-4K) and it works well, but I couldn't get one that records the rear of the truck because of the roll down window (I'm worried about people rear ending me more than anything)

Maybe I'll make one if one doesn't already exist...

If you get a decent set of front door component speakers, with the tweeter in the door sail, you can just disconnect all 3 dash speakers.
That is what I did on my 2014.
The dash speakers only cluttered up the good sound the amped front door components produced.
It also threw off the TA (time alignment)..

Upgrading the door speakers is a good idea because the stock speakers are 2,4, and 6 ohm.
A good set of 8 or 4 ohm aftermarket component speakers will better utilize your aftermarket amp and DSP.

I'd also recommend a 5 channel amp as opposed to 4 channel and separate mono amp for the sub.
Less wiring, less hassle, even more so for the result you desire.

1 good sub, 10 or 12, on 500 RMS watts should get you low end you are wanting.
I'd recommend a 5-channel with the bass knob, the Infinity Reference 7005A has one..

Reference 7005A | High performance 5 channel car amplifier (infinityspeakers.com)

I'm running a JL Audio twin 10" sub Stealthbox on 500 RMS watts sub channel of an Alpine PDX V9.
Sounds great once I got it all dialed in..

    James @james@tech12volts is top notch.
He was very helpful to me when I asked him questions about my system..
