hello all ? changing the the fluid. i believe the service i had done was the first service from new {2011 crewmax limited}the shop that been business for over 60 yrs. so i went with there recommendation on fluid i believe it was a very high end Valvoline? far superior to Toyota. So it was changed at 144,000 now after trailering my 2 1/2 ton boat for a season every weekend from end of may to nov. now having 159,000 should it be done again. and service is only $150 a cheap price for great service much cheaper than toyota which told me there was no filter in there.

The Valvoline Maxlife is decent ATF, but I would still just use Toyota's WS instead. A transmission is an expensive part to damage because you saved $50 on fluid.

There isn't really a filter in there, it's more of a strainer/screen. If you've had it cleaned once already, I don't think it would be worth the money to drop the pan again, just do a drain and fill.

And just drain when cold and fill exactly same amount. We'll, maybe just slightly more to make up for fluid that were in the drain pan and stuff.
