I have a set of the TRD red shocks assemblies that I am in the process of installing. Are right and left front the same length? I thought I had read somewhere that they are different lengths. I cannot tell by looking at them but they do have different color paint dots on the springs.

    In progress…
IIRC the driver side is longer to compensate for Tundra lean.

Do you have a picture? On the older Tacomas, driver side was green passenger side blue.

Are these the Pro Bilstein or the newer Fox? The Bilstein assemblies have part numbers specifying right and left hand sides, not sure about Fox. But they are definitely side-specific.

Edit: I just realized you probably mean the red TRD Sport shocks. The link @NoRcptn posted should give you the info.

Yeah, they must be wrong. It’s the TRD red sport shocks. Passenger height from ground to wheel arch is 40.25” and driver is 39.5”. The shocks on the passenger side have blue and orange dots. The driver side has yellow and grey dots. I guess I will reverse them tomorrow.

    Hol' up!
I've been digging around. I haven't found it yet but just as a reference I have the fox pro's which are Left / Right specific and still i'm a little low on the DS. Maybe heavier battery. Anyways, found some stuff from 2003 -2006 tundras and blue is on Passenger side. It looks likes it has changed frequently depending on model and spring rates used. I'd try to do some more research before swapping them over.

Oh crap, then the dealer should know the color codes if you have a chance to hit them up.

The driver’s side spring in a hair longer but off course you can’t tell that when it is installed on the strut.
For the Tundras the blue dot should be drivers side.
Also the bottom pigtail should point to the drivers side for both springs.

The coils have a paint code, I replaced the shocks on my '02 a few days ago and used this chart.

You have my luck. 50/50 chance of getting it right on the first try, and you got it wrong. Like putting on a tag-less t-shirts in the dark. It's always on backwards the first try:/
