    Hello,

I just wanted to give a quick introduction for myself and I'll get right to the conversations!

I'm a mechanical engineer who specializes in mechanical design. Machined/injection molded/sheet metal/3D printed parts etc.. Anyways, this isn't an interview so I'll get to the more interesting part.

So I'm currently not a Tundra owner. I currently own a 2003 4Runner with ~260k miles. I've been interested in the Tundra for years now, and if the 4Runner ever (sadly) dies I wouldn't hesitate to get behind the wheel of the 4R's big brother. I'm by no means a mechanic, or as knowledgeable as a lot of the guys I've seen post here, but I do all of my own car work and I'm pretty mechanically savvy. I've never swapped an engine for example, but I'm up for the next challenge whatever it may be. The head gasket on the 4R may be my next big project, along with a new suspension on my wife's car.

Anyways, so I'm not a Tundra owner, but I am very much interested and hopefully one day I will have the privilege of owning one myself. I look forward to learning from you all!

P.S. If you have any questions for me about mechanical engineering or design or anything I'd be glad to share what I know.

Welcome from the Texas Hill Country.
Mmmm...Uh, yeah, probably the last time you'll want to mention out loud that you're an engineer.

It's a known fact there are more self-taught engineering geniuses on internet forums that anywhere else in the world. If you even mention that you may have more insight into a mechanical problem because you do this for a living, and that you're an (OMG) engineer...
You'll have to break out your **** umbrella. :crapstorm:

It may not be too late for the Mods to take mercy on you, and allow you to change your user name.

    Anyway...Welcome aboard. :D

    Glad to be here.

Well that's unfortunate to hear. I have no intention of holding that over anyone's head...I'll be the first one to admit that a majority of people here know more than me about anything vehicle related, which is why I come here to get my questions answered and learn from you guys.

I could see this being a problem in the future though. There's a reason engineers have a superiority complex stereo type. I'll give it a go with this username and if it starts causing problems maybe I can get it changed or I'll just create a new account. Thanks for the heads up.

John’s just flipping you shit, cuz that’s what we do. I’m not called Rainman because of the weather in the PNW.
I’m also trained in engineering (have a degree), but use it more practically then stamping drawings.

Welcome! Lots of engineers on here, there are a few Toyota ones also(surely we amuse them). Ignore the negativity, been here long time and maybe 3 or 4 engineers had issues, most just leave, but all had/have that complex. Never know who your talking to, or what they know on here, lots of good info.
