Better mileage than the sticker

After picking up my new truck with a full tank (38 gallons) I made the 160 mile trip home and got 18.1 mpg. Better than the sticker implies. So far i am loving this truck. The rear window is awesome.

 

I’ve never seen higher than 16 with my truck, even with stock tires. I still love my truck though.

 

Maybe down hill I can get 18 mpg. Usually 16 maybe 16.5

 

Once your ECM learns your driving habits, you won't get 18. You will see it drop quite a bit.

 

I’ve had my truck for almost 3 years and I usually get 18-20 highway, and 15-16 in strictly city driving.

 

I hope not. I know it will drop considerably after i get the goose neck on and start hauling water. But i still have to get it broke in before i start that.

 

Even stock it will drop. We are driving some heavy trucks. I average 12.5 to 13 with mine.

 

Yep. It is a myth that you can't get this kind of MPG's out of the Tundra.

 

Report back after you fill it 5-6 times with normal driving.

Beast mode already seen. I bought this truck because my neighbor has one and it pulls a 1000 gallon water trailer up and down these mountains with no issues. They are indeed a beast.

 

Do you mean “can’t”? Or don’t you believe me? I’m a pretty chill/conservative driver, I get better mileage than my friend who has a Tundra.

You can easily surpass the sticker
I averaged 17.5mpg on my Tundra after two years and 16.8 on my sequoia after two years of ownership...it can be done

 

I am lucky to get 14.5 mpg, more highway than city. Of course I rarely am under 70...

 

My 2021 is getting 13.3 mpg after 1,500 miles. So you're saying I have a chance to make it to 14 mpg ?!

Hell I can barely squeak out 14 with a 4.6l

 

Did you drive mostly highway to get that ?

 

Had my 21 for 3000 miles now. My regular driving with more highway than city is about 15mpg. Cant complain, my 02 4.0 ranger with 4.10s, 31s and 4wd got 15 to 16 no matter how I drove, now I get a bigger truck and a v8 for the same mileage.

The most I ever showed on the tundy so far on the computer after my trip down big bear mountain was 21.5 mpg, mostly downhill and clear freeway.

 

Same year same milage same mpg. I do mostly city driving though currently

 

My dash reads 15.3 average mpg. Filled up yesterday and manually calculated my mpg's at 11.5. Combo of city/highway driving.

 

If it makes you feel any better unless I’m travelling on the highway I’m getting about the same mileage as most of you .

 

Probably 60/40..highway/city
But I also drive like a grandpa

 

I get 14mpg mix and 15-16mpg all highway. That’s hand calculated and not by the optimistic lie-o-meter. Just shy of 3,000 miles on truck.
