waiting on my 2021 CM Pro and the only thing i'm not excited about it is the stock tires. i have the same michelins on my current 2017 Tundra and they simply are not great in severe winter conditions even with a 400lbs of ballast in the bed. i'm planning on ordering a set of Bridgestone AT KO's as soon as my Pro arrives. It seems like Toyota could have gone with a more aggressive tire on the Pro. Am I crazy?

Since your title is a question, and the only question you asked is " Am I crazy?", yes you are. We all are.
Ok. Now, should Toyota use a more agressive tire? Maybe. Chevy uses the duratracs for example on their trail boss'. I think they could look at something like that for the smaller number of PRO's sold.

However, the tires sold from the showroom need to be a jack of all trades. If I spent a ton of time in severe winter conditions, I'd go narrow Blizzaks or studded tires, and a set of chains in my storage.
But for now, once a week to the snow the Toyo OC ATIII has been a good tire for me.

    Welcome from NY.

I would look into Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT. I have them and they are great. No road noise, easy to keep and stay balanced. Should I mention they were great in the snow this year.

You do not seem crazy and you are not the first Tundra owner to consider this. Fortunately, lots of great choices for your 18" x 8" wheels. KO2's are a sound choice. I've run several sets of KO2's in the past, Toyos and now running Falken Wildpeaks. They have all been very good AT tires.

This is a good size for the Tundra IMO. I have Duratracs and love them, but you need to figure out what you want out of your tires.

I'm in a rural area of Warwick at about 1400' elevation and my road is always the last one plowed. My driveway is a 1/4 mile nightmare and I'm currently running a Boss HTX plow on my '17. The stock Michelins are horrible for my situation and use case. I actually ended up putting a Boss V Plow on a Polaris Ranger for plow duty. Part of the reason I ordered a new Pro is because of the plowing abuse that I have delivered to my '17. Can't imagine anything other than a 5.7l Tundra after all these years. The Pro will be my 4th.

Yes, SU '93 and Yes, Johnstons. I've bought Toyota trucks from 6 different area Toyota dealers and I like DCH in Wappingers Falls the best but beggars apparently can't be choosers when it comes to the 2021 TRD Pro. I guess i'll go ahead and order my new tires now so I can sit around and look at them sitting in my garage for a few weeks.

KO2 always been good to me in the snow. I like the aggressive sidewalls too vs the toyo or falken

I got mine from Johnstons, my friend used to work there. I'm about 15 minutes from DCH.
