I am looking at getting the same bumper in the future. You said with skid plate added, is that a filler until the RCI skid shows up? Or will they work together?

(Should) Work together..I haven’t seen what I’ll receive from extreme terrain..but it’s off the bumper to the factory skid. The RCI will replace factory so I assume it will work. Hopefully if it’s an issue I would only need a longer threaded bolt to remedy.

    Not enough....
I am curious to see how that skid plate they sell lines up with an aftermarket skid plate. I have the P&P engineering skid plate which utilizes the factory tow hook bolts, and wraps up the front a little bit. It looks like this one mounts using the tow hooks bolts too, but it just fills the gap in-between that and the lower part of the bumper.

It doesn't look too bad for the price!

Not too bad, but a little DIY and ingenuity involved for sure more than I thought it would for a bolt on bumper. It took me and my brother 5 hours taking our sweet time removing stock bumper and installing everything.
    1. Had to use a lot of washers as spacers for the light bar mount since I didn't use a Baja Designs one, just an Amazon special.
    2. They never included the stock fog light brackets with mine for the new bumper and CBI support was pretty horrible in my experience. I ended up just getting some Diode Dynamics SS3 fog lights and it needed a couple washer spacers to bring it up to fit in the fog opening since again, these were designed for Baja Designs lights.
    3. They never included sensor plug covers with the bumper to cover the holes and my truck never came with them...so I ended up ordering some 23mm amber LED marker lights to fit in there with some washers.
    4. I had a trim a little gusset off the core support with a Sawzall so that my Smittybilt X2O winch soldenoid box would fit since I didn't want to relocate it under the hood.
    5. The bumper had a little bit more of a gap than I would have liked once installed on the stock tow hook location where you bolt it back on. The factory tow hook bolts were too short and you're gonna need new longer bolts and some washers/spacers to cover that gap or you'll bend the bumper in that area a little bit snugging it up from the bottom. I had to order new M12x1.25x50mm bolts and washers on McMaster-Carr so I can put my stock tow hooks back on.
Overall, I like the bumper and quality. CBI customer service was non-existent and ignored and ghosted about 4 of my emails. I am happy I ordered through TruckBrigade though as they were my advocate for the long lead times and kept me updated and I do like CBI products and will be ordering skids and sliders through TruckBrigade again, not CBI directly. I will say, I did order bare steel, and it came powder coated for me so that was kind of a nice surprise and free upgrade lol.

    Good info. Thanks!

@Truck Brigade is the way to go.
They hooked me up on a number of items.

I found it is best to call CBI, their email responses are slow.

    Ordered mine bare as well.
Thought I got the powder coating hookup when I called to check status.
They said it was in powder coating and about to ship.
    It came bare... oh, well.

I have the Diode Dynamics in round and square.
Do you think one would work better than the other?

Would you happen to have a link to the 23mm lights?
    I like that!
Do you have a pic with them lit up?

Not sure if you have Tundra specific ones, but you'll need the universal style ones because they come with a different bezel that doesn't contour to the stock bumpers. I think the square works better? but I can't really compare since I don't have the round ones. The bumper opening is 3.5" and the SS3 squares are like 3.3" or so. The universal mounting brackets are just a little too short for the cut out hence the washers to stack it up a bit higher.

Sorry, still not wired up yet, working on it this weekend. You'll need these in 23mm and some 3/8 washers front and back (I just spray painted the washers black to blend in). https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CWQZ212/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8

Hope this helps, I wish I knew this going in at the time lol.

    Thanks!

Yes, I do have the universal rounds, but if the squares fit in the opening, I may go that direction.

I’m really liking the 23mm lights.
I’m excited to see them powered.

Kind of a unique way to do some running lights without doing the raptor copycat.

The lights are a nice touch. I usually don't like these kinds of upgrades. These look like they belong.

I'm eyeing this bumper, as well. Any issues with the TSS? How long was the wait?

I have the Baja bumper sitting in my garage, I've yet to install it because I've been waiting on a winch. Do you think that I could install a winch with the bumper already on the vehicle? Also, I'm not sure if I got any mounts for the stock foglights now that I think about it. I've also got a cheapo 30" no name light bar I want to put in too.

There's no way you could do that UNLESS you don't have a hoop on your bumper impeding your grille like mine does. I think it might be possible if you can take the grille off and on easily. The winch kind of tucks under the grill a little bit, you can kind of see from my pic below and see the mounting brackets for my winch solenoid where it sits behind the lower portion of the grille. To mount the winch, you remove the built in skid plate on the bumper and get access to the mounting holes from down there. The fairlead is kind of a pain to install too, I had to find longer bolts since you sandwich it between two plates on the bumper. You'll see once you get there. It will make your life 100x easier to just wait to install everything on the bumper before putting it on.

Even installing the 30" light bar would be a huge pain in the ass to do with the bumper on. Use the included light bar brackets they gave you (I hope they even gave you them) and grab some bolts and washers and it should work. My 30" Nilight light bar was a little short on the mounting brackets and I ended up using nuts/washers as spacers, no biggie and its totally fine.

Be ready to have a bunch of washers to use as spacers for various fitments and make trips to the hardware store for longer bolts for multiple items. There's no way I could find out how you could install the OEM fog lights on without a special bracket made for them even though CBI markets it as a feature... it's really set up on the bumper for Baja Squadron lights, but I made the Diode Dynamics SS3 work just fine. Maybe some other CBI bumper owners can chime in on this, but yeah, no brackets here too, but it was an excuse to upgrade the fogs so oh well.

Thanks, guess I’ll wait til I get a winch and BD Squadrons and who knows what else. Probably a TRD Pro grill to relocate the sensor. Money pit. Lol

Got skid plate #1. I’ll post a pic, I dig it. Works with factory tow hook. Didn’t work with location where factory skid plate attaches. So I’m not sure of the next problem, but when I pick up the RCI skid plate I’m gonna probably head over to my local guy at liquid power jet and have him just cut the Barricade skid if needed.

I have the rear Hooke Road. It needs modification, grinding and slight DIY to make it fit. It comes in 3 pieces. Quality is so-so mass manufactured in China, but for the price I really can't complain..it's half of what other bumpers are out there for. The free back up lights are meh since they are spot pattern and I prefer flood. I tried switching them out with some Amazon Nilight ones and they didn't fit because of the fins on the back. The step is great to have. The finish was good. I experimented with Rustoleum Smoke Gray spray paint to color match and it turned out alright. If you are expecting C4/CBI quality, this is not the one to get. For the money, its definitely okay.
