TundraBC out of curiosity I check this thread occasionally. Did you pull the trigger on anything yet?

I really like my Eibach kit (from tire rack). It rides very nicely on road and also on terrible forest service roads. Has a medium firm feel to it and absorbs bumps very well. I don’t have any indication of a lean, nor have I measured for one.
I hopped in a new gmc elevation for a test drive a couple months ago and it was horribly stiff on the road. I put a set of KYB gas adjust stock replacements on my dads 1st gen and they are way too soft for my liking.

I would recommend buying from toytec pre assembled to save a lot of danger and aggravation swapping the springs - the compressing tools from HF and parts stores don’t really fit tundra springs.

I agree I like the firmness of my eibach kit. It’s firm but not overly firm. Hard to explain unless your ride in a truck with them.

Out of curiosity I assume it’s a northern thing, I see it a lot on here, and probably sounds stupid, but what is a forest service road?

Been on this setup for a couple of weeks now. Rides great, no complaints.
They come preset to level, or what Eibach thinks is level. I have about a 3/4" rake, so may adjust them another 1/2" up in front and see how that looks. The tech that installed them did adjust the driver's side to get rid of the lean and make it level side to side.
Considering Eibach makes the springs found on just about every other set out there, the only variable is the valving in the shock, which I think they did a good job with for the Tundra. For the price I think the Eibach Coilovers are hard to beat.

Looks good. Wish these were a option when I was looking. I’m still happy with their non adjustable though

It’s right at 2” in front. The guy I spoke with at Eibach back in early December said they essentially set it to match the stance/height of the TRD Pro. You can squeeze another 3/4” (+/-) and probably throw a shim on there and get to +3”, although you’d need UCAs at that point. I may do that down the road and throw a shackle on the rear if I decide to go up in tire size.

Just the roads in the national forests. They are not usually in good shape and are disappearing by the year as bridges and the roads are washed away.

Pretty sure they are 2/1 ratio, so drop them down a 1/4" to be 1/2" lower. Per Eibach you can actually adjust them once on the truck to dial in the exact height you want.

There are a few snap ring grooves that hold the spring perch on the pro truck lift. Actual height will depend on what springs are used. Looks like they have a new kit version 2.0 for 2016-20 models that are adjustable on the truck and come assembled. Pretty cool! Not sure why they aren’t listed to work on second gens? Thought they were the same. Guess not.

The 2.0 Coilovers is what we were talking about. Coilovers are fully adjustable, the cup kits like the Pro Truck or Bilsteins are incremental adjustments, and must be fully disassembled to adjust height.
They should fit the 2nd gens as well, most other kits list 00-06 and 07 and up.
Eibach probably just didn't realize the 3rd gen is really just a prettied up 2nd gen.

What is the spring rate for this Coilover? If they used their ERO coils, there should be that description written directly on the coil, right?

Thank you elduder! I think I'm going to grab the pro-truck Coilover 2.0s. IIRC the TRD Pro coilovers are in that 650lb ballpark so this setup seems like a good value. Now to decide between 1" lift block or some shackles. Suggestions?

I was thinking of using total chaos shackles for 3/4” or the +1 coachbuilder shackles. I figured it would be easier to install a 1” block, though. Not really looking forward to replacing the stock leaf spring bushing..

With this 2.5 kit do you need aftermarket ucas? I have the stock trd off-road package, not a pro. Thanks!

I say skip the shackles and use RAS, will lift the rear an inch, up to 1.5 depending on how you set it. Perfect setup with the Eibach 2.0 suspension. RAS rides great and supports the weak factory leafs. Stops sag when loaded. Block or shackles will degrade leaf springs over time, especially with hauling, towing and hard acceleration.

I run Eibach 2.0 adjustable suspension set at 2 inches lift, and HD RAS in the rear for 1 inch lift and am very happy with the setup, very well matched components.

Hey @frichco228 awesome setup! Im about to do something similar and could use some advice if you dont mind. I told my 4x4 shop I was hoping for 2-3 inch lift, that would be carrying a snowmobile in the bed maybe 20 days per year, would be interested in stiffening the tail but avoiding having an even higher tail-end than stock (dont want a bigger squat). What they suggested was the Eibach stage 1 (which comes with rear shocks, the RAS, and an Icon add-a-leaf). Your setup has no add-a-leaf, correct? In your experience does the truck sit pretty level like that? Do you have a sense of what it would look like with a 450lb weight in the back (my snowmobile?) - of course I wouldn't want the truck to have a 'bro lean' (higher front) when hauling my snowmobile - but since that's only happening 20 days per year I wouldn't want my truck's rear to be overly stiff and way too high the other 340 days. Any advice will be a huge help! Thank you

not to mention, Eibach makes about 90% of the markets springs (Fox, king, icon, etc)

I have the Eibach pro truck 2.0, the adjustable coilovers and that came with matching rear shocks. It is adjustable from 0-2.75 lift. I left it set up out of the box and it lifts front 2 inches. That would have leveled the truck if I did not alter the rear with RAS.

Yes you will want to firm up the rear, stock leafs are soggy compared to the Eibach coilovers. I installed the HD version of RAS and used a quarter to set it which comes right in between the included white and black disks used to set up RAS tension. It lifted the rear an inch. You may need a carrier bearing drop, some trucks need them when lifting the rear any amount, others get by ok without vibration at takeoff. I use the stock leafs, no add a leaf or airbags as I think RAS is better in my application. Add a leaf you will feel, stiffer, in normal driving, RAS is not as obtrusive. In my case I already had the TRD rear sway and I kept that along with RAS.

As it sits I have one inch of rake, which is perfect for me and the setup offers plenty of clearance for 285/75-18 (34.8 tall) tires on stock rims. I dont like the nose up attitude. RAS does what they advertise, good product for the $. You could adjust the Eibach coilovers to 2.5 or 2.75 lift to be more level but that might mean its lower than you like when hauling/towing.

I have had no issues, what I did was a huge upgrade over stock performance and handling. Very happy with it, especially for the cost vs other options. I think you are on the right track for a nice reliable suspension upgrade without spending a fortune. Oh, if you do go with RAS, get the HD version not the standard.

This is awesome, thanks so much man. Based on your suggestions I’m going to tell my shop that I don’t want the add a leaf quite yet, sounds like that overkill on top of the RAS. I can always install it later if it’s too soft even with RAS. Thanks for your advice!
