What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

my factory only had heat in them. The tow mirror have directional and running lights that work plug and play. The spotlight I hooked up to my cargo light switch and there is blind spot but I don’t have that on my truck.

Oh wow really? These were plug and play for the directional and running lights? Are they oem mirrors? I have a 21' as well and I would love to install some towing mirrors and have the directional and running lights.

 

You actually got what you ordered from them?

I had mirrors saved for about 6 months, was about to pull the trigger but dug around for reviews. Never found an actual positive review from them. Everything I found said they were a scam and stole your money and never shipped a product or would ship a different product. Hopefully things changed with them because they actually had a variety of mirror options for the Tundra!

that is exactly what I ordered. Everything was plug and play except the blind spot and the spot light. Easy install.

 

I guess I took a risk I wasn’t even aware of. I’m glad I had no challenges. They did not have instructions and you should make sure it is what you want because you are on the hook for the shipping back.

 

I was thinking the same thing. All I've ever heard were horror stories of them not shipping. That's why I went to Boost Auto... Hope to have mine installed this next week.

For the 2020/2021 TRD Pro, I have confirmed that the wiring is there for turn signals AND marker lights from the factory. I would expect the same on the SR5 trims - this is in order to support the factory Tow mirrors. If your truck has BSM, then the wiring would already be there for that (at the connector in the door wing).

 

Finally warm enough today to finish my chrome delete with the Ecoological BumperShellz. Great product!

 

What is the spot light you are referring to? I think I get what the blind spot portion is.

Rear window switch relocation

 

The Chevy-style mirrors have two door lights at the outer edges that are normally wired into the reverse lamp circuit, but you can wire to anything you want. I’m considering a dedicated switch for mine.

 

Why do people go aftermarket mirrors? I found the OEM ones for less than the topgear ones. $400 for the set of black OEM. Am I missing something?

I got the aftermarket because they match the white of my truck. My truck originally came with white mirrors.

the spot lights are the two little light between the top and bottom mirrors. You can hook up to anything most do the reverse light, I did mine to my cargo light so it came on when I open the doors and others have a dedicated switch. Dealers choice.

 

Depends on wants and needs.
The factory ones have a smaller fish-eye mirror than the chevy-style. Factory power folding ones are ~$750 or more, so similar price to power folding after market ones.
Factory ones only have black for a color, yellow marker/turn signals, and no BSM available. Also no in-glass signal in the factory ones, or option for defrost on the lower glass. Also just a different look.

kind of like asking why people put aftermarket tires, wheels, suspensions, etc. on I guess.

Got tired of waiting on the bilstein 6112s and decided to order the eibachs seeing as there already put together. I will keep everyone posted on how well they work also got the icon 2.0 rears hopefully that will help ride quality a good bit.

It's just a piece of aluminum, dimple washers, 2 screws, and the bracket from the radar detector. I'll try to get a better picture of it tomm.

 

Toyota style towing mirrors are crap. Both the flat and convex mirror are too small, and they don't look that great. GM and Ford towing mirrors are by far and away the best for visibility, and they happen to make GM style ones to fit a Tundra. If I put mirrors on purely for looks I would stick with the standard non-towing mirrors, but I love the visibility you get from good towing mirrors I'm just so used to it from driving HD trucks all the time at work. Can't replace being able to see behind you easily, 2 lanes over, and your rear tire from one position - no more neck twisting when parking in a tight spot.
