Genuine OEM vs. Fake OEM

Hello Tundra community!

I just picked up my first Tundra two weeks ago, a 2017 SR5 CrewMax.

I also just bought on eBay what are supposed to be used OEM TRD Pro rims.

Does anyone have any recommendations on what to look out for to verify that they are genuine?

Welcome from NY.

Those look like TRD Off Road rims. The PRO rims are black and the center cap would say TRD.
You can get them powder coated black, which a lot of people have done.

 

Trd sticker, is a bit off putting. Unless applied by previous owner.

Those were my stock Limited rims. They are not PRO rims.

 

Not sure on fake vs real, but as others have said those are not the TRD Pro rims (15-17 or 19-21). They are the TRD Off Road rims. The 15-17 TRD Pro had the same rims but they were solid black instead of the machine silver surfaces and had center caps that said TRD. The 19-21 TRD Pro rims are forged BBS rims and have a different shape to the spokes.

and that red/orange/yellow TRD on them isn’t factory that I’m aware of.

 

Sorry man but if that’s what you bought as TRD PRO rims you got ripped off, they’re plain old TRD off road rims with some colored sticker on them

Just my ignorance regarding the PROs.

These are the types/style of rims I was looking for.

What did throw me off was the TRD sticker.

Colorado -> Utah -> Nebraska

 

Ebay and PP will protect you and back if you they were misrepresented (or fake) and you wanted to return them.

A link to the original listing would help people confirm further.

If you do go that route....only communicate with the seller via ebay message and NOT outside email.

You got what you wanted BUT they were misrepresented. If you’re ok with the price then you can let it go. If it was me, I would contact either EBay or the seller. It was probably just ignorance on the sellers part. They were not priced at PRO wheels prices.

 

So, they are made in China by Dicastal. Does that sound correct?
