Thank you PonyMan, and yes, it was quite a project. The rags dirty up so fast even after you wash the truck. Also used clay to smooth out the skin. If you haven't used clay before, read up about it, it's fantastic and leaves your paint job smooth as butter. Once I clayed, I rinse one more time and then give her a good waxing.

Is this all OEM parts? Is it pretty much plug and play?

    Trim restoration 12 yrs later.

And to think I considered replacing all new. Saved me some series money!

@Rube207 is the console around your shifter black from the factory too?

I have been toying with the idea of blacking out my interior with factory parts and that was the one I didn’t see came in black?

Nope, it was in rough shape when I bought the truck, so I painted it with SEM trim black. I’m going to redo it with Rustoleum Textured black that matches the factory color and texture pretty closely.

From what I can tell the all black gauge surround panel only came on Grade trucks, which I believe only came with column shifters. So I don’t think there is a matching textured black shifter surround. I’d love to be proven wrong though.

    thanks.

I think I just realized the same thing. When search grade trucks interior I just noticed they all had column shifters.

my OCD was kicking in earlier when I fell down the rabbit hole of searching for all black interior parts and the shifter bezel was the only silver/gray price in the whole interior

I used the below magic potion. Amazing results. Just look at the 1st pic comparison.

TheBeast's got it right. Alpharex Nova. Turning lights are not sequential. I changed turning bulb to LED switchbacks, though.

Thanks man. I’ll try my best. So excited.
Thanks! I’ve already done camping across the back seat for up to a week, I can already tell this is going to change it completely.

Nice. South Dakota near the Black Hills is one of the few places I would move to. The old mining towns there are pretty cool and not too busy. Devils tower not far away in WY. I suggest buying a national park year pass and get your monies worth out it.

I dont know how much more driving you want to do, but you could go loop back home through Yellowstone/Teton, Moab UT, Silverton/Telluride/Ouray CO, Ozarks AR, Dragons Tail TN/NC, hwy 64 from Franklin to Cashiers NC. Or loop back through northern MN/WI and the UP of Michigan.

Have fun buddy I did a similar trip in 2016. I slept in my SUV. Your tent looks pretty easy to setup, but you might want to keep the backseat open for camping at walmart. Their campgrounds have a deli, supermarket, and flushing toilets. Might be a little cold in May too. :D

Man,half assed , that sounds like a Great trip, either way. Been looking at SD trip to BadLands and where ever , but your route sounds really fun. I'm in ILL , So not long trip to SD , and from there to out west and back around. All new to Overlanding , and wife says need more motels involved, and I'm ok with that , as long as we go.

Honestly driving is how I want to spend most of my time. Thanks for the route suggestions, I’ll research. The former seems pretty attractive. I put miles down pretty easy. I’m trying to keep truck sleeping to a minimum, but I’ll make it so I can in a pinch. Hoping by then to have solar/power setup and maybe a fridge (probably not I don’t like cooking too much)

Well, unfortunately, in this crazy ice/snow storm in south central Texas, I lost power for the past 5 days and have been staying with a relative in town. So the truck has been parked outside. This morning, I went out and started it and put the defrost on full bore., since the windshield was covered with ice and snow. Let it idle for about 20 minutes, then went out and as I was about to back out the drive, turned on the wipers. INSTANT loud pop. Cracked the windshield all the way across from "A" pillar to "A" pillar about three inches from the bottom. THAT'S what I did with my 2nd gen today.:(
