Hi Everyone, New to the forum and this is my very first post. I have a 2003 Black Tundra with 286k miles on it. Still runs great. My Dad passed away 5 years ago and he gave me the truck about 10 years ago. I’m 53 and my plan is to keep it another 25 years. Anyway, looking at starting to do some small mods to it and eventually want to have it re-painted and few dings repaired. Nothing major. Going to replace the radio and I would like a new set of rims.
What ideas does everyone have? Would like to stick with Toyota, but would not be opposed to something custom. What do most folks do?
    Thanks,

    Rob

I'm just about done with my 2017-2019 Toyota 86 radio swap.

Only missing a microphone and to locate the right side steering wheel controls for hands free operation (if I feel like adding it).

Since you have a black truck, I'd probably try and get the gunmetal 10 spokes (dual 5 spoke) rims that came on the later year 1st gen Sequoia's.

    Andrew and Jack,
Thanks a lot! I like both of these options. Both excellent choices and much better then what is on now. Both of these kind of jump out at you as opposed to the ones that it left the showroom with.

For the radio, I am thinking of going aftermarket (JVC/Pioneer/Kenwood) and replace the speakers in the door. I replaced the speakers on my Corolla a few years back and for $40 bucks was amazed even with the factory radio what a difference it made.

Going to start looking at Craigs list for these rims. Will post some pictures when I’m able to find them.

I think my Tundra is going to set my personal best Toyota Mileage record. Had a 4 Runner with 302k before I got rid of.

Lots of factory Toyota take off wheels to be had. Just keep an eye on CL. People upgrade and sell pretty nice factory ones. Have to figure out what fits of course.

Restore your existing OEM Rims. They are becoming super valuable and like the Land Cruisers in another 15 years people will be $toked on Original Equipment.

Rustoleum Aluminum Wheel with Clear Lacquer Finish will do the trick. Check my build page for details.
