Texas, 6 degrees outside. New battery replaced 7 days ago. Antifreeze and Water combination in radiator. Truck will not crank up but battery is new. Antifreeze solution is frozen (Anitifreeze had to add water in it) (just the water not the antifreeze) if i take my battery out and bring in the house for a couple hours, will my truck start once I put it back on??? Just snowed last night. All lights work.

When you say crank, do you mean it won't turn over at all or will not even try to turn over (my understanding of crank). If it will not crank at all, either the battery is a dud (unlikely) or more likely you have a bad connection at the battery cable or a ground somewhere. Since you replaced the battery recently, I'd check there first....make sure you have a solid connection.

Your antifreeze is frozen at 6°?

Like speedtre said, check your connections, but if your antifreeze froze ( can happen if you do not have enough antifreeze to water % ) you have bigger problems then the truck not starting. A cracked radiator at least and maybe even a cracked block

This. Don't try to start it with ice in the cooling system.

When was the last time the radiator was flushed?

my truck started in -26° this morning. a brand new battery should handle that fine unless you have other issues, such as a poor connection, or a power drain somewhere.

If your truck has ice in the cooling system, something is very wrong. don't start it until ice is melted, and flush that coolant with a good 50/50 mix or ideally Toyota Red coolant.

Thank you for the answers. I have a leaking radiator but forgot to mention that first. Before the snow the truck would still start in cold weather. Didn't think about letting ice melt out of radiator first will do saturday. Engine block is not cracked.

Suggest replace radiator ASAP. Use Valvoline Asian 50/50 Coolant.

You should be glad the truck didn’t start with frozen antifreeze. Your troubles would have escalated exponentially.

Leaky radiator, have you been topping it off with water? 50/50 antifreeze shouldn't freeze in 6 degree weather. Hence the name antifreeze. Water will. If your coolant is frozen, how do you know the radiator or the block isn't cracked now? I would be cautious starting the vehicle and would be inspecting thoroughly once it thaws out. Check for leaking (will be tough with all the melting going on around you I imagine), also visually inspect the freeze plugs. They will push out if the water in the block has frozen and expanded. If all looks good and you do start it, run it for a few minutes while checking under the hood for obvious leaking, then shut it off and inspect the oil and coolant. Shouldn't have milky oil or cloudy coolant, else they've been mixing. Water pump could get damaged during this as well. Best of luck, it has been brutally cold out.

Warm 65 degrees today. Truck almost cranked but stopped. Sounded like it was one kick away from doing so. Battery good, radiator good, starter good, could it be the fuel injector? Taking to shop on tuesday.

My timing belt was off. Radiator with frozen ice inside also played a part. Truck is fine now. $700 fix.

Glad it's fixed. Timing belt jumped a tooth or two when trying to crank with a block full of ice?
