Government Motors is positioning themselves to receive another huge taxpayer funded bailout, that's all.

When gas is outlawed, only outlaws will have gas. I’m good with that.

Unfortunately I think that long before then we will have European gas prices $8-$10 per gal forcing everyone to ditch their gas guzzling V8's. That's why over there they drive stupid 2, 3 & 4 cylinder vehicles

Gas prices have been almost $2 per liter in many parts of the EU already. I don't think Mercedes V8 sales have been hurt at all.

Check out how many miles your average European drives a year. It's about 5000-10000 miles & cars cost at least 30% more there than here. Most married couples only own 1 car. Bicycles & Motorcycles are a much greater part of necessary transportation than they are a recreational vehicle. I lived in England for the first 37 years of my life. You couldn't pay me enough money to go back there again.

Dude, why the heck did you move here? Just curious. I love London. If I could live there I would.

There are many things to like about the UK if you are a visitor but the standard of living for an ordinary working class person "you call it middle class" is far below what can be achieved here.
You would have to live it to understand. It's a question a lot of people have asked me in the time I have lived here. I am an American citizen and proud of it, my only regret is that it took me so long to get here in the first place.
Like the saying goes the grass always looks greener on the other side of the fence. I tell all of my American friends who complain about the USA go and live in Britain for a year or two then come back and tell me how bad it is here.

Now, that is an interesting question and am looking forward to see his answer. I've been to London several times. While I absolutely love the history and much of the architecture, I find the city to be a dirty, unsavory place to raise a family. The vast majority of people live in lower middle class economic level. And, while I understand that it is not advisable to broach politics on this forum, I will say the "no-go-zones" are both real and disturbing. I have been all over England and Scotland and there are absolutely breathtakingly beautiful places (Dartmoor, Lake District, Scottish Highlands). My wife fell in love with the Isle of Skye. So much so that she wants us to move there. Problem is, the people of the UK do not have freedom of speech nor do the have the right to bear arms. I just cannot give those things up. And I will NEVER be a subject to the Crown. But hey, to each his own.

Maybe if you lived in Scotland you could take that Scotch tour about once a week though . That would help .

Oh, I've done a couple of those already... although, for some reason, I only remember about the first 20 minutes of each..... but for some reason, they always have somebody named "Duncan" along for entertainment.
