LOL. We’ve owned 3 Corollas over the last 20+ years. (I’m not as old as that makes me sound! ;) ) A 2000, a 2010 & now a 2020. All our vehicles get plugged in whenever possible, but they’ve had some very cold starts over the years, and never, not once, have those little Toyota I4s not started. Or needed a mechanical repair, and the first two were run to high miles. Yeah, I’m a Toyota fanboy. :)

Edit: and I daily a 2008 Yaris that the block heater doesn’t work on. It’s always started. Been cranking and growling about it a little more this week, but it starts.

Nah, those temps just build character, and a tolerance to extreme cold!

It is tempting to turn tail and head south when you wake up and see -62 on your phone though. Seems once you hit -30, it all feels the same

Yup, Canadians just bundle up and deal with it.

-25c or so, is when it all starts to feel the same to me. The wind is the deal breaker in Winnipeg. -30 with no wind is better than -15 with 40km winds.

-20C (-4F) is usually where I put on long johns if I'm going to be outside for more than about 10 minutes.

I was driving around just fine yesterday in the Tundra. Started like a champ as well.

Last night - was -6F. It whined a bit on startup; but I've heard tons (tuns?) of other Tundras do the same, so I assume it's a peculiarity specific to the Tundra. The battery wasn't too fond of it but that's to be expected; if it goes kablooie I'll get a better aftermarket one.
