Former Toyota owner, had a 3rd gen 4runner modified for overlanding. Sold that years ago.

Went by neliconcept on most other Toyota forums.

So wanted to say hello! I am looking at 3rd gen Tundras and several other trucks, started a new career in residential construction project management so figured it was time for an actual truck. Currently own a Porsche Cayenne GTS which will go to the wife.

I have some specific questions but I'll relegate those to the specific forums.

Welcome Blake. Once you start looking around the forum and reading all the different posts, you'll have a hard time passing on the Tundra. Good luck and people will answer your questions

    Welcome from Wyoming.

The only legitimate reason to pass on a Tundra would be the payload rating. If you don't plan to haul or tow heavy, you will love the Tundra.

Not sure to be honest, I have never owned a truck, only SUVs. It won't be a work truck, but I may want to tow Jetskis, and other smallish stuff. Probably in the 6k range at most. My Cayenne can tow over 7k so regardless it will be fine.

I am looking at the long travel section, I love the look of fiberglass fenders but not sure I want to go LT with this truck. I was wondering if anyone has run fiberglass without an LT setup. Yeah I know some hate the look of the fenders, I think they look great. I would go LT if I lived out west but being in the east, not many places I could utilize that setup.

My main truck options I am looking at are the 1500 rebel, Tundra 5.7 SR5 most likely and Ford Raptor 2017 used. The Raptor's values are ridiculous and I just don't feel like paying 55k for a truck with 50k-60k miles. I've also looked at F250 superduty trucks but not sure I would use the towing capacity or payload.

    I appreciate the welcomes!

You should be good in that range if you can keep the tongue weights down. It's the only surprise drawback in the trucks. Some will complain about the MPG, but that's something that is easily found before purchase. Lots forget to check the door jamb and are shocked when they see that Tundras struggle to have a full family in the truck a bed of gear and a small travel trailer.
