Over the winter I have not been using my tundra, so I've been starting it to idle every other week or so for 30 minutes. Problem is that last night I dozed off and forgot about it and woke up to the truck lights still being on.

Was the fuel pump trying to run that whole time? From what I searched the 05-06 fuel filter is in the gas tank, so I can't replace it easily and there's no online tutorial. Is the fuel pump certainly shot? Is it a bad idea to refill with gas and try?

Are you saying it ran so long it ran out of gas? I would put a small amount of gas back in it and try it. My guess is that it will start.

Vehicles have been running out of gas for over a hundred years and starting back up. Give that sucker a drink and turn the key.

When the Engine dies the fuel pump will shut off, the pump shouldnt have been running dry or anything. Just a really short delay it keeps running before turns back off. You can hear it kick on/off if you bump the starter.

Brother did this at airport. Got on the plane, with the car left idling in the extended stay lot. Got in car to start, nothing. His average MPG was zero. Lmao. Tow truck came with two gallons, he said it was a dog until he punched it, and cleared the Cats. No issues. He figured it ran about 20 hours.
