Trying to figure out what pads I need for my my rear brakes. I have the tow package, so I believe it’s got bigger brakes than normal tundras. Thinking OEM or Akebono. Any advice?

Those may be one and the same.

A neighbor of mine had a lot of good things to say about Detroit Axle brakes and pads, but I'll be putting Akebonos on both of my Toyotas shortly after trying out the Detroits.

Detroit axle was an eBay special brand back in the day. Now they are on Amazon. I wouldn't put them on any vehicle I own.

I like powerstop products, much better than oem IMO.

    Disagree.

I had the powerstop rotors and brake pads and braking was crap. OEM rotors and brake pads braked better than the Powerstops hauling toy hauler. So I gave the Powerstops and pads away to a friend. Never again will I buy Powerstops.

Been using them on multiple vehicles for years. First ones that didn’t warp on the matrix I had for a long time. Oem on my 4Runner already warping after 6,000 miles and were done by dealer. Have the towing pads on my tundra with car quest premium rotors and work very well. Everyone has their own experiences though.
