Front wheel hub replacement

    My front wheel dust deflectors are shot , can I omit these without shims ?

    Are you talking about the metal shield on the back side of the rotors? If so, as I recall, they are mounted between the hub and the
    bearing housing. In order to remove one, you need to pull the hub assy. If you go that far, why not just install a new one? If you don't want to replace it, then all you have to do is cut the old one out, without removing the hub.

    These are very pricey. Like 700 bucks just need to know if I remove it do I have to put shims in for the difference when installing new hub

    The dust shields, behind the rotors are $87.00 each from Toyota, if that is what you are talking about. If not, then you will have to be more specific.

    6 inch lift, ADS suspension, Alcan custom rear springs, 46 gallon metal gas tank, Full Line-x body, Wheels with 35's, Smittybilt bumpers front and rear, 10k warn winch, custom rack.
    Yes, you can remove the dust shield, I did that after I bent one all to hell. I just removed it and bolted everything back together, no problems.
