I put a new battery in the truck, and it would not start. I check the starter fuse and was fried. I replaced it and the truck started right up. Then to door closed and it was locked. That should have been my first clue that something else was wrong. Got the spare key, and attempted to drive home. None of the electrical worked, and the truck was in limp mode. Now I am thinking it is a bad alternator. But, it seems odd that none of the electrical will work. Is this a common indication of an alternator failure? And, no the battery is not getting charged.

    Thanks for the help

Did the CEL come on...if so, can you pull the code?

I seem to remember this exact scenario happening to another member and the problem was that the Main Fuse in the Box Blew. The Biggie Fuse with the Plastic Window on top.

Yes the CEL is on. However, there is not any power to connect my code reader to get a code.

There is a "main" 40 amp fuse, one of the square fuses. Could that be it?
