Hello all, first post here, will be making an official build intro post soon. But first, I just bought a 2004 tundra DC and the guy who had it before me wore the front seat out. The padding is all jacked up and you have a little lean to the left.

anyways, I live in Colorado so after seeing the switch plates I figured I should just get a seat with heaters in em. My girlfriend is always cold so this will help me keep from having the heat on blast just for her.

ok finally my question is will a seat from a 2005-6 DC fit in my 2004? All the seats I’ve seen say tundra 2000-4 and 2005-6. Is this just for an airbag sensor? I found a front set of leather seats with the heaters for $450 near by but they are listed as 2005-6. I’ve searched the forum but couldn’t find anybody mentioning a difference.

Also it’s my understanding that the wires are run in the factory so I can just plug the seats in? If there is some sort of sensor difference in the new seat would the wiring harness have changed?

Thanks! I had actually just looked at the article you linked to haha. Glad to know there is no difference in seats. The fact that the wires may not be there is less exciting haha. Guess I’ll just have to go dig around after this snow clears.

you mentioned chasing the wires to find them, where did you start for that? I was thinking of starting under the seat but it sounds like the center console is better start point?

Both places...the center console for the switches and under the seat for the heat connectors....they are both easy to find if there...center console ones were down and to the right. Underseat wires came off the wiring harness and were attached to seat with no connections going into the seat obviously...
