Hi, I lifted my front thinking it was a level. But the real issue is I checked the oil today a week after the lift and it reads half. Do I add oil or leave it at half. The 2.5 seems to have changed more then the clearance.

Engine oil, this is the most that has been missing., and the only difference is a front 2.5

Adjusting the truck's suspension and lifting it should not have a negative effect on the engine oil level or your engine's ability to run. When the engine is hot, your oil level should be somewhere between the two marks on the dipstick - halfway between those two marks is completely fine. If anything, add some oil, check the dipstick when the engine is warm and report back.

I do know that when checking my transmission fluid that the angle of dangle makes a huge difference in the fluid reading of the Dip Stick. The engine oil not so much, but still a difference. In other words, I need to check my fluid when parked on a flat level surface. Checking it near a curb with crown and then up on an inclined driveway might result in two readings vs. a flat even surface front to back and side to side.

Reason I wanted pics was to see if the truck was more than 2.5” in the front with saggy ass in rear, but I got the ‘ok’ which is ok with me. Hope its a simple fix and not the V6 Head Gasket Problem.

Yeah, that's a very good point. Let's hope this info is helpful to the OP and it isn't a bigger issue like you said. I guess in addition to taking readings on flat ground, it's good practice to take more than one reading for confirmation. I actually have to use a flash light on my Corolla's oil dipstick to see where the oil stops on it.

Its pretty reasonable to think that leveling the front would change your dipstick reading. The dip stick is towards the front of the motor, so if the front is raised the oil level would tip back a bit.

To check it, you could raise the rear of your truck 2.5" to mimic the stock rake and then check your oil.

What do you mean it’s reading half? Half on the dip stick?

All things being equal,a 2.5 inch lift doesn't seem to be enough to alter a full reading by half. My truck, nosed into my driveway is down hill and lower in the front by more 2.5 inches and it only changes on my dip stick about 1/8 of an inch or so. Where was the level prior to the lift? Maybe do an oil and filter change, on level ground and measure in the correct amount and see where the level is then?
