I am wanting to install an led strip right under the center dash for a little light in that area. Does anyone know what to tap into for this? I did it on my 2013 but I don't remember what I ran it off of. It was wired to come on any time I turned the dash/running lights on.

Check the build link in my signature.
Grab the wiring diagrams from the post linked in my signature. Should be the “Illumination” EWD that you want inside the main Circuits downliad. Every button/switch has an ILL+ and ILL- wire to it that runs on that circuit, so you should be able to tap the ones from the traction control button.

You can use the Illumination circuit so this is activated with the dash lights, mostly every switch in the console have this wire but you must check before doing any splice

This one is from a switch around the mirror adjuster area (BSM switch)

I put 2 blue LEDs into my dash to give off a little light while driving.
One for the cup holder, one for the area under the climate controls.
Ended up running resistors inline to dim them down even more.
I just wanted a touch of light down there.

I tapped into an unused switch on my 2014 DC dash for the dimmer circuit.
Tested wires with a DMM until I found the dash light circuit.
They dim down with the dash lights, which I keep very low at night anyway.

Looks like I tapped into a beige and a tan wire on one unused switch, although the wiring diagrams don't match up to that.????

LOL - that one you have behind the cupholder (on the front of the console) - the Gen 2 trucks have an amber light in that same general area that lights up the cupholders very subtly.

Yep, I had to see my beer in the cupholder while I was driving..
Then the front one I had to see my Altoids mints in case I got pulled over...

Even with the resistors I had to put a tiny piece of electrical tape on the light to keep them from being too bright.
Jeez, they are only 3 lumens...:eek2:

    But they are perfect now...
I keep my dash lights turned down all the way to where they almost turn off.
I don't see how people can drive at night with their dash lights blinding them inside..
