    so about to close on a house...and of course I want to fix up the garage a bit since it will be my man cave. what do you guys recommend ?
    Typical California attached 2 cars garage. Has high ceiling so thinking of adding some storage there with maybe one of those ladder that goes down. Also epoxy flooring ? cabinets ? costco ?

    give me some ideas and prices estimate if you have done it before.

    pictures too :worthless:

    thanks !

    The Beast will finally have its own garage instead of street parking

    I cant provide you any aesthetics my good man but what I can tell you is if you have a garage to park a lifted tundra in, you need to hide the tent every time you look at it

    Any type of storage (workbenches, cabinets, etc..) are best kept on wheels. If you like to keep your garage clean it is great, along with allowing you to keep your garage available to manipulate.

    The spot above your garage door is a great place for storage. I would keep the floor as open as possible. Hang stuff from rafters and use shelving and wall cabinets.

    #1 should be your main tool chest
    #2 is great to load up with everything you need for the job and wheel it out to the truck
    #3 is a great cart for detail products. then just clean and dry your buckets with lids and keep all your towels inside to keep dust out

    I also like the spot between the garage door track and the wall that is about a foot or so to hang a ladder horizontally.

    @ej63090 offered great advice.
    The more modular your man space can be the better.
    Ive got the roof storage rack and all my ladders and yard tools are hung on the wall as well.

    This is from my experience as I have 2 workbenches that are immobile that I despise. Right now I am working on a Ron Paulk style workbench on casters and will be getting the mobile carts that I posted above. Honestly a decent mechanics set with a few different impacts should more than take care of the mechanical side. Try fitting a table saw, drill press, bandsaw, jointer, planer, and miter saw. Carpentry tools can be a PITA!

    Modular is key. This was important to me, my garage needed to be efficient.

    Slatwall is awesome as well...if i could have lined every bare wall with it i would have been happy.

    It's a little more redneck than a slatwall, but I just attached sheets of 1/2 in plywood on the wall and put French cleats on everything.
