Hello everyone. I just purchased my first Toyota ever. I have wanted one forever but I was never in a good place financially to buy one. Recently I have been driving a GMC Sierra and started to see signs that the end was near :(. Ultimately, I decided it was better to sell it now before I dumped anymore money into it. In its place I found a 2002 Tundra TRD V8. It has 138,000 miles on it. My GMC remained completely stock the entire time I owned it due, in large part, to the warranty. Being that warranty work is not an option anymore, I'm planning to make this truck mine. I started today with a new radio and made a few phone calls to start thinking over options for suspension, wheels, and tires. I figure reading what you gentlemen have done may save me some costly mistakes along the way. Expect a work in progress thread soon. Say hello to my new money pit.

Be prepared for no more big money issues. So long as you take care of it, it should treat you right. The only major concern is the when towing. The trannies from 00-02 had a weak planetary gear so keep it out of overdrive during a tow and you shouldn’t have any issues.

Good to hear and I don't do much towing currently so barring any major life changes I should be good on that front.
