Had a bozo do a hit and run on my 18 Tundra. LEO's never caught the guy, and due to a bad on my part (or possibly a bad on my agent's part) I had no collision insurance. Estimate for repairs is right at $4K, all damage is to the bed/bumper.
So I thought I might just go with a new flat bed.
Does anybody know who might make a skirted aluminum flat bed for the Tundra?
Internet searches have shown them on a Tundra but none of the dealers have a Tundra option in their website build sheets. They are all for Ford/Dodge/Chevy.

Man, that sucks. I feel your pain. Had a car that over the course of 12 years was hit and run 4 times. People suck.

Anyway, the first Aluminum flatbed I found for the Tundra was here https://alumbody.com/toyota/ but I'll keep looking.

Highway Products doesn't list a Tundra specifically but they have so many custom options on the beds that they make, and I would think that these beds are somewhat universal, that I am sure you can ask them to customize one for the Tundra.

    https://800toolbox.com/flatbeds/flatbeds.htm

It will probably cost you a lot more than the $4,000 to fix your OEM bed and bumper.

Yep, have that, but doesn't cover H&R unless they catch them and find that they have no insurance.
I chased the guy for 14 miles while the wife had state police on the phone. It got too dangerous at 95mph on a 2 lane highway at night,
and him weaving around others and running off the shoulder. Never got close enough to get a tag number.

I would love to get a flatbed on my truck I just don't really want my truck to get hit to make it an option. I use it as a family mover and commuter so I can't justify the expense of just switching to a flatbed because I want it.
What ever flatbed you end up with make sure you get some tool boxed under the bed sides, the storage is nice to have.

My wife was t-boned in Gulfport, MS in 2013 that totalled her Honda Odyssey and gave her a permanent 40% hearing loss in her left ear (from the airbag going off). The Gulfport cops didn't even look for the guy, who would've been easy to spot because he drove off with part of the Odyssey dragging under his car. Several weeks later the same guy hit another car, killing a little old lady. He didn't get away that time because it busted his radiator. He was drunk. He still had the plastic piece of the Odyssey stuck under his car. Penalties for crimes today are WAAAAAY to lax. This guy didn't even go to jail for killing that lady. I would make it physically impossible for him ever to drive again.

Sir might I suggest finding a used one? I just bought one for my uncles tundra for 700 bucks off marketplace and he drove down from Michigan. We had it swapped in a couple hours. I did the bumper at the same time. I don’t remember what that cost but it was cheap.

if you look on car-part there’s some for 2k... find one that’s the right color like I did and you don’t even have to paint. Easy peasy cheesy and you don’t spend months looking like I did.

Not all people suck! Best to not judge others unless you live or walk in their shoes. By doing so, karma may be what brought you 4 hit and runs.

You say this as you accuse me of judging others and claim that I brought it on myself by doing so.... Judgey much?o_O

You also say you expect others to exhibit common sense. Apply that here. Who was I saying sucked? All of humanity, or the kind of people who hit and run?

Penalties have always been to lax and i think we may be beyond the correction point. Just have to do our best and adapt while trying to set a better example. So, I applaud you for your contribution.

I just stated the facts, not my fault if you don't agree. You can read your statement again. Then decide.

Wow that’s strange. Some one side swiped my 2019 and it was covered under uninsured motorist coverage and I have collision/comprehensive coverage. I didn’t even have to file a police report (I’m in VA so it might be a state by state difference)

I'd ignore him. I see him trolling all of the other threads too just to get someone riled up.

Not to rile you up, but this is a forum for members to share ideas, opinions, photos, and more. I never said I was perfect or even close. Just accept social media is not going to always tell you what you want to hear.

Yup. Karma caused four hit and runs because it was in a judgement zone. Just like karma makes your fingers type idiotic sentences so that four years from now a butterfly will flap its wings causing everyone wasting time in this thread reading erroneous statements to get eye cancer.

    Anyways, about the truck bed...
