I have a 2021 DC sr that does not have factory amplifier. What do I need to add a monoblock amp, and is there any under seat box for 2 10's with 5" mounting depth? I want to avoid changing head unit for now.

You only have about 5 1/4 inches for total height under the seat. You have to be careful about your subwoofers clearance. My box is 5in high and had signs of the sub bouncing against the bottom of the seat. I added 2 washers to slightly raise the rear seat and a heavy sub grille to prevent the sub touching the seat. Tight space for sure..lots of options but double check mounting depth! And clearances.

I built a box for (2) JL Audio 10TW3s. No problem with depth.

The 10TW3 requires a 3 1/4" mounting depth, I have 10w0v3-4 which requires 4.9" mounting depth. I may have to just get the shallow mount subs if I can't get my current ones to work.

Are you interested in Taco Tunes? I totaled my 2018 DC last month and selling both amps and subs that go under the back seat. $600.00 for all. The amps and rack go under the passenger side seat with a direct bolt in amp rack.

You will need to tap the speaker wires to get signal. You will have to pull out the HU, there will be a black plug with green, gray, purple and white wires. You will need to tap two (of the same color)of them and run the wires to the amp. The amp will need to be capable of turning on using speaker sense or high level input, otherwise you will need to run a remote/switched 12v signal to the amp to turn it on. You will also need to run a constant 12v wire from the battery to the amp.

Yeah I know about power and ground to amp, just didn't know about signals from head unit to amp. Thanks for the info.

I run 2 JL 10” w0v3-4 in my CM with a Tech12volts custom box. The box needs relief cuts in the back to fit the magnets. Not sure if it’s different for a DC.

FYI..The amp should have low and high level inputs? Low level is usually RCA cables, high level is from you speaker wires. You can tap into them anywhere in your case the rear doors would be easier?
For your subs with 4.9 inch mounting depth the box if made of 3/4 in mdf will need to be 5 3/4 high? With the subs mounted towards the front of the seat I think you might get way with it? Or recess behind the magnet like AZboathauler said.

I measured from floor to bottom of seat, back of seat is 6" and front of seat is roughly 6 1/2" not sure how much room I need for sub movement.

A few... Definitely more than 2
I used one of these add-an-amp harnesses in my truck and had good luck with it. I'm not sure what fits a 21 stereo but there may be an option out there that you can find. It was easier for me than splicing into all the speakers and finding a remote signal from somewhere. https://www.amazon.com/Amplifier-In...=tundra+2021+add+an+amp&qid=1611602112&sr=8-2

If you are going to add an amp to your OEM H/U, you're going to want to purchase a DSP. I know a lot of people on this forum go with AudioControl.

For the nicer DSP go with Helix.

Isn t that what xmax spec is in sub specs:the max excursion?
Nevermind. Xmax has to do with the voice coil.

Yea. I spoke too soon:anonymous: I stopped worrying about the linear excursion after I removed back seats. I got tired of working with such small constraints. Now I have room for big excursion:D
