The look I get when it's time to go out.

 

Sniffing around at the park now that the rain is gone. Poor guy has been stuck indoors most of the week.

 

Got Roscoe out for a long walk this morning and then he melted by the fire.

 

What is it about shepherds and snow balls. The last three shepherds my parents had all went apeshit over snow balls or snow coming out of the snow blower!

 

What do you mean, I am a dog.

 

Dear all, just a PSA of what I learned this week about our good boys. Took mine to Big Bear(mountains) to see snow the other day. The 2nd day we were there he started having issues breathing. My bud has a lung tumor and is almost 14yrs old. He started struggling to breath mid 2nd day after living it up the first 1 and 1/2 days.

At first I thought it was the end, it was his time. It was later at night, all vets closed so all I could do was try to comfort him on his way over the rainbow bridge and then it hit me, high altitude, thinner air, harder to breath.

Sure enough our older dogs are very susceptible to altitude sickness especially when they have an underling condition. We packed up, drove down the mountain and he started to breath better. We were up there just 4 months ago and he was fine but it almost took his life this time.

I thought I’d share just in case anyone else happens to be in my position some day.

 

Because our dogs aren’t spoiled...

 

My good boy is a lab and absolutely loves snow. The first time I ever saw a dog slide in snow was when he ran and dove head first into snow. I thought he was tripping and falling at first then realized dude was body surfing on snow lol. Even at an older age, I couldn’t get him to come inside.

My dog has had arthritis for about 4-5 years and ever since I started giving him this, he hasn’t gotten any worse. He was super active and to this day still goes on 2-3 mile walks.

 

Alright my Tundra family... Here is Kobe (might change the name) He has been in the shelter as a stray for about a year. Looks like he's had a tough life, but my wife and I like adopting senior dogs. You can see his left back paw is deformed or was hurt. He has a surgically repaired lips and a torn ear. He is smart and the pain of losing our lab has subsided, but not gone away. Time heals and it's time for a new friend. He comes home with me on Thursday!!!

 

I hereby decree any use of Apeshit or the colloquial "Ape Shit" shall be quoted as a sign of respect henceforth in this thread...because that's exactly what dogs do with whatever they go berserk for...

Dude, love that move. Old dogs get left at the adoption centers too long. They deserve the same love!

Thank you!! I don't get to have the puppy experience / puppy breath / or the number of years, but the years you get with them are really worth it.

 

My wife and I adopted this one year old Male French Bulldog. We are slowly introducing him to our other Male French Bulldog. They both already show good disposition towards one another. He is already kennel trained and potty trained. He has a very good demeanor and loves to play fetch.

Here’s our new little boy just relaxing.

Diesel our male blue Frenchie is actually a little bigger even though he is still four months younger.

Yeah they’re alright. That yorkie is the biggest DH I’ve ever seen. If I walk through a door and close it behind me leaving him on the other side, he’ll drop a deuce right in front of it. But he’s always the first one at the front door when I come home front work... so I can’t hate him. He knows this and uses it against me. Frienemies for life.
