My friend is saying I should avoid a cold air intake and instead go with a k&n panel filter...

Obviously the the performance factor of the cold airs vary and aren’t for sure.. mainly for looks and sound..

    filters cost less...

    what should I do?

You already have cold air intake. I did drop in air filter and and air accelerator.

    Curse you Perry the Platypus!
The Tundra has a really well designed factory air intake. I would love the TRD one but I can't justify it after looking at the stock design. Just get the K&N panel filter (or TRD filter and keep it in the family) and call it a day. If you want to get all fancy pants, get the air accelerator.

Supercharger, stroker kit, headers, injectors, deep pans, block modification, valve springs, pistons, fuel pump, nitrous kit, drive shaft loop, narrowed rear end, slicks, exhaust, plugs, pulleys, and a few more tens of thousands. Trust me you can get all kinds of hp and torque, so no need to stop at the intake! I mean you did say sound and looks! Might as well get some smoke too. Plus when you leave wal mart and give it a 200 hp shot the whole town will be sayin' wholly sheet batman did you see that!

    More than a few.....
Use stock paper filters, the KN ones just let in more crap to your engine and dont give you any measurable performance. Plus the oil can mess up sensors and its annoying to clean them. Stock is way to go imo.

Exactly right, can't believe how many choose to reinvent the wheel! Why ??? Most are daily driven mall crawlers! Just plain silly! IMO.

I went with S&B intake, some say it sounds louder but I can't really hear the difference to be honest.

BUT I do notice my mpg went up by about 1mpg, and my exhaust sounds slightly different, I'd like to think it is faster now to justify what I spent, overall I'd like it and do it again.
