I picked up a 2010 Double Cab a couple of weeks ago and am planning on doing an overland build with it. I was under the truck today hooking up a backup camera the previous owner had installed and I noticed a couple of unused plugs behind the rear bumper on the passenger side. As I do my build I am going to have plenty of accessories I want to add and wanted to know if anyone could shed some light on using these unused plugs, or any others I could find around the truck to wire things in.

Any examples of this being done, or advice on ways to go about it would be appreciated. I also tend to get a bit overwhelmed making heads or tails of wiring diagrams but any resource to help me identify used plugs and the wiring to them would be great too.

I have seen these under my 2010 too and always wondered what they were for. Watching

Parking sensors would make sense. I am hoping to find time this weekend to to probe them and see if any of the wires are hot when the accessories power is on.

The rust is just on the surface and I am going to be doing the rust check application once a year from here on out. I have a Tacoma that had the frame replaced and don't want to have to do that again.
