I have read a lot of miss information about this but I have a 2004 tundra

The correct tire size for the 2 1/2 inch RC lift - 265 75 16

    285 too big

Just had mine done it looks spectacular

    Welcome.
I'm running the same RC kit. It's perfect for 285s on my '00 Tundra, no rubs (OE backspacing, SPC UCAs). Not sure what you read... not enough body clearance for the '04 Tundra maybe?
