Dobinson or OME springs with 5100's

Hello,
I am wondering what everybody's preference is with Dobinson vs. OME springs with 5100's. I am looking at upgrading before I am old enough to start driving. What would you guys go with and what are the two springs geared toward (like road-going or off-roading)?

Neither, Dobsons and OME springs lift the vehicle. If you want to use their springs do the full suspension, springs/shocks, etc. They sell them as a package.

You use the stock coils for the 5100s. 5100s are adjustable for lift via a movable collar- they should be used with stock type springs, not longer, lift springs.

 

I used OME springs on 5100s to lift my 04 Tacoma. I got 3 inches of lift, the ride was firmer than stock, and plenty for the offroading I did with it.

I'm not familiar with dobinson springs, but the OME springs were the cheapest option for me.

Make sure your 5100s are set at the lowest setting if you're using springs to get your lift, otherwise you'll have a bad time.

 

@frichco228 Thanks for the information! My stock springs have almost 200k on them so they are worn out and I want to replace them.

@70m4h4wk Thank you for the response! I am mainly looking for durability. Both springs will serve my purpose I just want the springs that will last longer.

@70m4h4wk How long ago did you replace your shocks and springs?

 

Would have been December 2018. I've put at least 25k miles on them so far and still going strong
