Good point. I was just thinking about bounce that could be created from the shocks, but guess they would have to be pretty bad to bounce the bed. Anyhow, also makes me wonder if the RSB could affect the performance of really good shocks?

She sounds like someone who would be very hard to live with, sorry but nothing is going to improve the ride to a point where she might like it.

the sway bar is just preventing the pivot of the axle side vs side. It should have very little impact on up and down motion of the entire axle.

while sway bars make cornering better, in theory they should make straight line driving worse because they limit the ability of one side of a suspension from following the road without rocking the entire vehicle. My evidence is from removing the front sway bar, it makes straight driving far smoother when only 1 side hits a bump

I'm going to be selling my Bilstein 6112 front coilovers and rear Bilstein 5160 reservoir shocks in a month. If you can wait I'll be listing them on the forum for about $800 total. 7k miles on them.

I have a couple of thoughts that I haven't seen. I let them drive. When driving you don't notice the ride and it distracts from the motion sickness. Besides the weight and tire pressure trick, I also greased up the axels and the truck is smooth. Thanks for all the great posts. It's fun reading them.

I don't think sway bars will help with ride. Truck should already have one on front. If you want a smooth ride buy a Camry.

Yup...it's a Truck and drives like a truck. :blahblah:

I saw how it would drive after a test drive or two, so knew what I was getting into.

Sounds like the wife is bothered more about the bumpiness rather than the truck rolling on turns. Sway bar will likely make it worse. I would actually try removing the front sway bar.

Accutuned 2.5s of some sort with deavers leaf springs. It won't be cheap, but you'll love it and it won't cost that much more than the trade in hit.

Bumpy streets and the swaying in the back and how it kind of rebounds 3-4 times per bump. I really think most of the culprit is in the ass of the truck. I checked my app and the tires are at 38 psi (P rated michelin LTX AT2s 275/65/18s stock with approx 6k miles on them) // I occasionally carry 500-1000 pounds of battery cartridges and even I notice the back end is much more settled just doing that.

Based on all the help here I'm taking the tires down to factory sticker 30/33 and then parking 150 pounds of battery cartridges (51 each) behind each of the wheel wells so 300 in the rear of the bed near the tailgate. Then I'm going to bolt on that TRD sway bar because 1) The tail does sway and float pretty bad on this truck and 2) it looks badass under there. I'm pretty confident this is going to work and I appreciate all the feedback.

Ah the cadillac bounce. My wife noticed it when i took off my icon suspension and put the stock back on. She thought it felt rougher. Which is interesting because the icon is stiffer, but it is controlled and predictable. The stock crap gets pushed around the road (my stock isnt trd though)

I was thinking more along the lines of this.
You have to at least get a premier level suburban to get magnaride, and those start in the mid 60s.
Tundras have great resale/ trade in value, but you aren't trading a used one in, getting a premier or high country suburban and spending less that 6k extra.

But then again I got my wife an LT tahoe instead of a premier, because i was just going to rip the shocks out and put something different in anyway, so I might not be the one to ask lol.
    We do love that thing.

It's all a moot point if she isn't happy with the suburban ride but I'd be looking at a mid 60k Z71 which comes with the magnaride and the adaptive air suspension (4 inch push button adjustable height is pretty interesting). The Z71 and high country are the only models with air suspension. I told her if she wants me to give up the Tundra For a better ride and bonus interior cargo room the new bodystyle Z71 Suburban is the only thing I would consider. I'd rather just keep the Tundra.

If you do the simple stuff and it doesn't fix it, suggest starting with a good set of front coil-overs (TRD Pro or several others - Other Fox, Toytec, King, ICON, etc.). Best bang for the "ride buck" IMO with lots of other benefits too.

4 inch push button ride height adjustability sounds awesome, as long as it works consistently.

Just trade her forester in for the suburban lol.

I sold my wifes subie for the hoe and kept my tundra.

We needed more space for the midgets and dogs than the subie had.
