So the tiny baby footwell light on my drivers side is so dim that it is barely useful. im interested in tossing some more lighting in each of the footwells, front and rear. i have a bunch of led pods laying around so im not going the vled route. 2 questions:

    1. what is the factory bulb type? ive seen 74 mentioned once, but thats about it. id like to plug into the factory socket and run everything off of that rather than splice wires. (assuming i can find the appropriate part that goes from the socket to pigtails. if it is infact a 74 bulb, its simply a t5 wedge base and i can get anything that has that base. but id like to confirm.

    2. is it possible to run a second feed to the lights so i can turn them on independent of the doors? id like to install a switch to turn them on while driving similar to the overhead lights. im not sure if the power would backfeed into anything else, in which case id need a diode.

It is a 74. Vleds does have a bulb adapter for it. As far as a second feed while driving, I wouldn't do it. I did that initially on my 2013. The problem is reflection in the windows, and the darker your tint, the worse it is. It does not matter what color leds, it will reflect. I have pics somewhere. It was bad enough that I could look at the window and tell you what was in the floorboard.

i wouldnt be driving with it on all the time, it would be something that would get flipped on when we needed to find something that fell down there during a drive. but thanks, that's a good consideration i hadnt thought of and it will save me some time and money if it does in fact glare too badly.. when it gets dark tonight ill try hanging my flashlight down there to see what the glare looks like off of the windshield..

thanks for the hookup on the vled adapter. pricy with shipping, but worth it.
