I was looking to color match the chrome so it’ll be all black and white, but places are trying to charge me 1400$? Is that a normal price for just my grill surround and bumpers? Let me know!

The grille surround and hood bulge are plastic pieces, to paint them all the chrome would have to be sanded off. I called a place about painting a surround and they were just shy of 200 (part was not chrome so a little less prep) and they wanted 500 for each pair of bumper end caps for powder coat. So that's about 1400 for all 4 end caps and the bulge and surround.

    Lots of shenanigans.
Seems high, but I have never looked for those quotes. Have you considered trying to buy some used from the forum?

Of course! Maybe try your luck in the marketplace and write WTB in front of it.

Depending your end goal, you can paint the bumper ends with plastidip or other automotive paints. The grille surround and bulge can be painted yourself but it might just be worth buying those (normally about 200 for the bulge and 350 for a color matched surround that will come with a grille insert)

Awesome thanks for your advice I think I’m just gonna buy it all myself instead of painting them. :)

It's also a good excuse to upgrade the grille to TRD Pro

Cheapest way is Plastidip. If you want it done right, it's a labor process removing those metal bumpers, having it de-chromed and powder coated. They don't just come off from the corners.

Taking apart the grille and bulge, stripping and powder coating is probably as much as buying a new white bulge and a white surround+grille (maybe less off someone who is upgrading theirs to a Pro grille).

There's vinyl wrapping that doesn't last as long, peels, won't look good on the surround unless it's a high end job.

I've also seen bumper covers being sold here, and people who Line-X'd those parts. You could always completely replace the whole bumpers.

Lots of options depending on budget and look.

FYI>>>Plasti dip works fairly well over "real" metal chrome properly prepped but sucks ass on surround/hood bulge plastic fake chrome. Comes out cheezy looking.

I've seen that plasti dip can be prone to chipping overtime

That's what's good about Plastidip. You can peel it off and and redo it. Easy peezy. It's rubber......

Wow that’s pretty cool, would that be cheaper then buying all new bumpers and a grill?

Of course it's cheaper, but not the same as the real deal. It's all relative to your budget:thumbsup:

I got the bulge and grill on Ebay for $450 but the end caps I can only find at the Toyota dealership for $500. Unless you go the end cap cover route for $200

I just did mine. I ordered the bulge, grille and surround (painted) through sparks parts. Then I ordered the 4 bumper corners in paintable abs from Cali raised (they are really from bumpershellz) and had them primed and pained local. I think they turned out great.

i talked to the toyota dealership. I was going to get my end caps from there but they can only give them to me unpainted. So I would be spending more money than I need to

You could always have them vinyl wrapped.
