Dang this pisses me off for not paying attention. I was loading the handcart in the bed from the side. I put the handcart back up there to show how the handle damaged it..
How much do you think this will cost me at the body shop?

I think I would look into paintless dent repair first. About $200-$300 should fix it where you would never know anything had happened.

Paintless dent for 200 or leave it be. Not sure I would want a body shop touching it for just that little dent.

PDR should be able to take care of that pretty reasonably.

I had a shop open my door into a lift arm years ago. Similar size dent. Dentpro fixed it, basically unnoticeable.
    Dentless for the win...

I really dislike how thin the steel is they use nowadays. I know is has to do with cutting weight but gee wiz. Suxs.

That has been my one of rules since I started driving and owning trucks in 03 is no side loading. That is what the tailgate is for.
If the paint isn’t damage and no metal showing I would just leave it as a reminder, that is why I left the dent in my tailgate after backing into my engine hoist. It’s painful waxing over that dent, but I’m a lot more careful now.

Had one about 8” long in center of tailgate dent/crease paint gone down to bare metal. Cost $400, but from the side you can see ripples so they are going to redo it.

As stated above, a decent PDR guy can get that out easily in about an hour for a couple hundred bucks.
