The OEM one that came with your Tundra, unless you want to degrade overall reception and go with a shorter antenna? If so>>> http://theantennasource.com/

My factory antenna brushes my garage door each time I enter/leave. Bought a much shorter one from Ronin and obviously reception not nearly as good now. The one I purchased is really shirt only around 6 inches. Is there a middle option that may be shorter than factory one but still get good reception? Thx for any recs

If I remember my Ham radio training, the antenna length is based on the wavelength you're using/receiving. Finding an antenna slightly shorter won't reduce it's reception proportionally. Your reception might be just as bad as the shorty. Hopefully someone can confirm/correct me.

It's not so much length but the poor build quality of the antennas. Keep in mind the antenna needs to receive AM/FM signals. Two separate bands with different wavelengths. Ideal antenna lengths are based either on full wave, Half, or quarter. That's why I'm not a fan of the new all in one fin antennas. AM reception will not be the greatest. FM will be ok due to the much shorter wavelength and XM even better due to the short wavelength at 2.3 GHz.

I've been studying for the Technician and General. Want to take both tests at the same time. Technician isn't do difficult but General gets more into it and gives you more advantages. Not much local testing going on near me yet. I've got a friend who is a bigtime hammer and is going to let me know when his club is testing again. They're a bunch of old farts and waiting for Covid to take a break. Oh wait.....I'm an old fart...:frusty:
