What are my chances of getting this woofer to fit in this box and mounting it behind my rear passenger seat? Worst case I think I may have to move the rear seat up a smidge.

Slim to none. The max mounting depth using 3/4" MDF is 4.25" if you cut the back of the box out and seal it with a steel plate. You could gain another 1/2" if you went down to 1/2" MDF, but I wouldn't do that, and you'd still be way off. That box is too big.

So the sub would fit in the box but not the box behind the seat? You think pushing the seat forward and drilling a new hole in the rail would work?

Correct. Sorry, I kind of went off on a tangent with the mounting depths. There isn't lot of room to work with back there.
I don't know about seat relocation, it's not something I would attempt, personally. A: I'm not a fab guy, B: I'm assuming the location of seatbelts and side-curtain airbags are engineered on the seat being in the location its in. I dunno, it would make me too nervous.

My sub box is 6.5 inches on the bottom, 3.5 inches at the top and 12 inches tall.

Aye sir. I appreciate the passion!!. Ya I’m thinking if I move the seat in half an inch to an inch that box will fit and the seat has about 2 1/2 inches of open space where a new hole could be drilled. Son is in a car seat on the other side and the wife upfront so safety concerns with airbag locations in my situation are a moot point. Was hoping someone who has done it would chime in hahah.

My Kenwood 10" subs have a top mounting depth of 4.5". James, at Tech12volts built me a sub box to fit said subs, but he had to cut two reliefs in the back MDF panel of the box to accommodate the magnets, and sealing said reliefs with a much thinner type of wood. And this, is about as good as it gets with the space provided behind that back seat. That being said, the damned thing rocks. James definitely knows his business!

Um, looking at the image of the tape measurement that you provided, your top mounting depth of the sub in the pic, is 5 1/8". So, no, it would not fit the box that James fabbed for me. That being said, I would recommend you contact James so that he can give you all of the information you require about options. He is STELLAR at returning emails (even in the middle of the night) and answers all questions.

I purchased his 10" ported sub box for the Crewmax and if memory serves, I paid about $250.00 before shipping.

You'd have to move it forward an inch and a half to accommodate the thickness of the top of the box, at a minimum. The sub boxes for Tundras are pretty specific, the sub mounts lower in the box. If I remember correct it needs to be that way to accommodate the metal frame of the back seat, so the sub has some room for excursion.

Roger that. I was just reading on taco tunes sight they may actually make relocation brackets for the seat. One of their systems requires you to move the seat 6 inches forward. I’ll give them a call Monday. Maybe they will have something for me hahah.

Just got that sub and a Polk audio pa660 off of Craigslist for 100 bucks. That box only 40 bucks. I got the taco tunes add an amp for 45 then my head unit kenwood 1057xr was 1400 from crutchfield. Figure if I can save some money and make the box fit it’s a win. 50000 truck and I have to have micro speakers and custom made box is crap.
