So I’ve been torn between two different upgrades to my truck..
    Option 1:
Adding a shock hoop along with 2.5 3- tube bypass shocks $2200
    Option 2: regearing front/rear to 5.29’s + BMC + 37’s $3800

Truck currently has 35” on stock gears with aftermarket UCA’s and King 2.5 RR front/rear

I do mostly open desert stuff, camping, small amount of rock crawling...

Are you out driving your shocks? Option 2 would be my pick. That way you’ll be set when getting the secondary shock to boogie.

Not necessarily out driving them but using them appropriate I would say. Another factory km considering Is my tires now have about 70 percent life in them but that’s not stopping me completely

I really dislike help me decide polls.........are you seriously going to make your decision based upon what we think? "open desert".. at what speed? A huge difference.

Well no it’s mostly for my curiosity on what other people would choose. And not too fast considering I have my truck specs posted. sorry if I made you think I was doing 80mph + through the “open desert”

Exactly. "Open Desert" has a lot of meanings here. I'm sorry if you think you made me think you were doing 80+ in the open desert....o_O
We have a few folks here that run in the "open desert" at speed....with the occasional rock crawling. Saw your specs. How do we know what you mean by open desert?

Yea totally with just UCA’s and 2.5’s. I should change it to “in the open desert I sometimes go 0-15mph. Sometimes I’m parked. sometimes get up to about 40-45. And sometimes when I feel a little crazy 50MPH!” I guess you couldn’t infer my trucks limitations from my original post

What condition are your Kings in?
If they are good, option #2 IMO

It's OK, we have a lot folks here that run with your options that you listed. You will get some good advice.

Unless you want to do more and more mods including engine cage and full long travel rear, do bigger tires, gears, lockers and slow down. You’ll probably get more use out if it

    I wouldn’t want to “35’s on 4.30’s”, so...

...lets see what’s behind door number 2!
